They really should honor Shmoop courses that have already been approved.

If you discussed the Shmoop courses with an advisor before May 2nd, you can probably still do them, if you send an ACE transcript with them before May 30th.
True, but giving students who've had Shmoop courses approved less than a month's notice to complete them is a d-move.

There are some. Of course not for Shmoop prices.
There is a UL poetry class at Coopersmith for $150.
There are the really reduced price poetry courses at Harvard Extension for $200, but they are not self-paced. One course this Summer, two in the Fall, and more in the Spring. $50 registration fee.

Thank you! It's just surprising that TESU would do this, given who its target market is.

Absolutely. Another black mark for TESU in my book for being not student-friendly.
However, personally if I had 2-3 weeks, then I might be able to get enough Shmoop done for the English degree.
I'm enrolled in English but don't think I specifically talked about which Shmoop courses I would take. I might have mentioned Shmoop once, in regards to the English requirements, but I had been told (for other degrees/certs) that they cannot plan in ACE courses. Therefore, I did not try to discuss specific ACE courses for my Eng degree. If I knew there was some reason to discuss specific ACE courses, then I would have. Like I said, I tried to, for another degree plan.

Yes , Lost my 6 credit . Just finished yesterday
Principle of Finance
Business communication Send those credits in anyway! If they don't give you credit perhaps point out you completed them prior to the notification
Additional Shmoop courses documented as planned on your academic evaluation will also be honored but only if they were approved by an advisor prior to May 2, 2018. In order to have those approved transfer courses honored, we must receive your official ACE transcript with all approved courses listed as complete to Thomas Edison State University by May 30, 2018.
I had approval for all the courses except this 2 bad luck . I just order my Transcripts (ACE ) . Let see what happens .

I have them approved, but hadn't had the time to start yet. I suppose I could do my best to cram a few in and get a transcript in ASAP, but this is not exactly how I was planning on completing them. ;P

I agree. It's just nasty and unfair to students who have already gone through the proper processes and had their degree plans approved. Give a few months, at least six. What would actually make sense, however, would be to not allow it for new students, but to honor the approvals they already gave. If your enrollment runs out and you need a plan re-approved, then *that's* when things should drop off. Just suddenly announcing that you only have a month for the courses that were already *officially approved* is definitely a jerk move.

Also, the Harvard poetry courses are 4 credits, so three of those might be enough for the UL, if a person takes a Non-Western course that's UL.

I feel this is something that should get some pushback.
