Theoretically, TESU could unilaterally eliminate all of the transfer credits that originated from Kaplan for the PLA course since the ACE recommendation has been rescinded retroactively. It would not be hard to do a mass deletion based upon the source institution. So sending ACE transcripts early may or may not help in this specific instance. The only way to make those credits safe is to graduate.

So,
We are a small but potentially vocal element here.
This stinks.
I don't care what happened. They can say no going forward; I can accept that. Taking credit away retroactively is unacceptable.
It causes me to question every effort I have made anywhere that doesn't directly offer a transcript.
What do we need to do?

It would make sense to do this only if Kaplan was found not to have been conducting the course properly during that time. Even then it's a pretty low blow to spring on a student who took the course in good faith.

A potential problem I see is what if they suddenly retroactively remove credit for the free Ethics course? That may affect far more current students than even the Kaplan course.

I think the whole problem might be that ACE questioned Kaplan on the course and Kaplan, having decided that the course, as a business venture, was not a success chose not to defend it. Unfortunately the student was not considered.

That's fine for not renewing the course going forward.
It doesn't explain applying it retroactively.

or, ALEKS.
That would hurt.
TESU told me that I could keep my Kaplan because Quote:For you, your credit was given not based on an ACE recommendation but on a different assessment completed by the University.
So, that's good, but I feel shaky about the whole system at this point. It's kind of like credit banking and finding out your bank isn't FDIC/NCUA recognized and insured...

That's interesting about a different type of approval. What else is there besides NCCRS? Or is Kaplan a college?
I said it before, but am still thinking it... this sets a bad precedent for ACPE courses in general. ACE flexes their power and demands more of the companies, they decline to bow the knee, they are removed from the database, students start missing credits... potentially a nasty mess.
