Hi!
Still looking for options.
Found this: Kaplan's Open College
Some of these things are free!
My question is, I can't find them on ACE (will check NCCRS). Have they been successfully integrated into anybodys Big 3 degree path without a portfolio type assessment? Like direct acceptance or pay-for-credit?
Thanks!
PS - I searched Kaplan and credit, went back like two pages. Looking for current intel

These are Kaplan university courses applicable to degree programs at Kaplan. Courses are free, to get credit you have to pass the assessment at the end of the course. These credits most likely don't transfer anywhere. These credits are recorded on the transcript as "AC" for assessment credit.

I see you've spent a little time at K U... lol
So, there's no way to somehow get them, say, onto a Kaplan transcript, and then use that elsewhere?
thanks!

The only one that is ACE approved is "LRC100: Documenting Your Experiences for College Credit." It's free, you can skip the part at the end where you submit a portfolio (so you don't have to pay an assessment fee). As long as you get at least 70% on the 7 module quizzes, you can have it added to your ACE transcript at that point. You can attempt the quizzes numerous times.

If you find an institution that accepts assessment credit from other schools, maybe. The courses are Pass or Fail with no letter grades.

That's not what the course is. It's not an assessment, it's a class on how to submit an assessment, the same as the TESC PLA class they require you to take before you can submit your material for a PLA. I took the Kaplan course myself, had it sent to ACE, and when I had my ACE transcript sent to TESC it was accepted as two courses; PLA-100 for 1cr, and PLA-200 for 2cr.
