Hi all, I am a 37 year old Business & Management Consultant. Canadian citizen but living full time in Texas. I never finished college. I started a business, dropped out, the business became successful, I exited and then started consulting entrepreneurs and businesses on becoming more efficient via automation and AI. I don't need a degree. None of my clients care about a degree, but for some reason, it always somewhat bothered me not having finished my bachelor's. I even tried going back to school while I was building my startup but that didn't work at all lol. So, now that I no longer have my startup, I think I have the capacity to tackle this once more. I absolutely do not care about the degree. What I want is the FASTEST way to accomplish this with the least amount of time commitment on my end (I do still work full time in consulting). Below are the credits I already have. Not sure if any of these would transfer since some of them are very old and my overall GPA is terrible lol. If one of you could take a look and let me know which path to take, that would be great. Also, if one of you could build a degree plan with Sophia, Study.com courses or tests I can take to earn credit, so I can knock out those before enrolling anywhere. Happy to pay you if you can do this for me (DM me to discuss payment, etc.).

UMASS Global MyPath MAOL

Hello all,
My search continues for affordable CBE options, but now at the graduate level. UMPI's MAOL is a popular option but the UMass Global MyPath MAOL is very attractive at the $3,800/6 month cost, especially for those that may not be able to complete the UMPI MAOL in 1-2 terms. There seems to be very little substantive conversation about UMass Global's MAOL and I hoping to change that.
Does anyone have experience in this program? Has anyone taken classes in 2025? It's my understanding that the UMass Global MAOL was moved to the D2L platform and I am curious how/if this changed their curriculum or delivery at all. Would love some insight on how those courses are delivered, what the workload expectation is, etc.
I applied to the program just to learn about the process, and they were pretty generous with transferring in the maximum 9 hours of graduate credit I had from another degree.
Thanks in advance,
J

TESU vs UMPI BSBA

Hi there, I am new! I have done a ton of research... and just when I think I have made up my mind... I change my mind. My goal is to get a BSBA degree at either TESU or possibly UMPI as fast as possible... and then apply to a California MBA program. Here is my background:
Your Location: California
Your Age: 37
What kind of degree do you want?: BSBA - Any kind of business degree (I am currently a marketing director at a large California law firm...so anything pertaining to business or marketing)
Current Regional Accredited Credits: I went to a community college in 2005-2006 and took whatever I wanted without guidance. Unfortunately, I messed around and did not get a good grade. Classes are as follows:
Math 101 – D
College Writing Skills – D
Gen Psychology – C
Ch Dev 33A – D
Ch Dev 30 – B
Health 1 – D
Photo 1 – D
Ch Dev 40A – B
Geo 4A – B
Chief 5 – B
Ch Dev 12 – A
Ch Dev 32 – B
Ch Dev 8B – B
COTR-19G – A
Ch Dev 160 – A
Ch Dev 6 – A
Ch Dev 8A – A
PE 16 – A
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits:
Sophia completed Classes:
-Art History 1
-Art History 2
-Macroeconomics
-English 1
-English 2
-Intro to Nutrition
-Intro to Ethics
-Visual Communication
Any certifications or military experience?:
I hold a Digital Marketing Science certificate (not a degree) from Chico State University
Budget: Any
Commitments: Work full time but from home (schedule is flexible)
Dedicated time to study: Weekends and evenings
Timeline: I would like to apply for an MBA this fall, but I am worried I won't make it in time, so possibly Jan 2025. Whatever gets me a bachelors the fastest
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: n/a
My concern is the ACBSP accreditation. Does it matter when trying to get into an MBA program? TESU has the certification for its BSBA, but UMPI does not. That is what is making me lean towards TESU. But maybe it does not matter and I am overthinking it.
Any advice or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Best AAS Options for Alternative Credits and Lowest Residency Requirements

Hello all,
I am a supervisor at a large law enforcement agency. I am working on developing a program that the department can cover the cost of or at least subsidize, to help police officers achieve their college education. I am very aware of several affordable competency-based bachelors degrees that would ultimately be part of the plan but I am struggling finding some options for an associates degree. I also know the argument that the focus should just be the bachelors degree and forgo the associates degree, but for some people, that associates degree milestone is important in their personal motivations. Pierpont AAS BOG was my target AAS to be introduced into this program until the recent residency requirement change, and paying out-of-state tuition for 12 hours at PP doesn't financially make sense. Local community colleges don't appear to be good options for us either due to a lack of recognition of ACE credits.
I am seeking help in finding an online, RA, associates degree program that accepts maximum ACE/Alternative credits (Sophia, SL, Study.com, Saylor, etc.), with the lowest residency requirement, that doesn't charge incredible out-of-state/out-of-district tuition/fees.
Ultimately, our program for our police officers and civilian staff, would look something like this:
Department pays for Sophia/Study.com/ACE courses to cover most of their basics.
Department pays for Sophia/Study.com/ACE courses to cover most of their associates electives.
Department/Local Foundation pays for remaining credits required for associates degree.
Department pays for Sophia/Study.com/ACE courses to cover remaining eligible electives.
Department/Local Foundation through scholarship, pays for 2-4 semesters of an online CBE bachelors degree.
Employee graduates with degree at no cost to them.
Additionally, a similar model would be created for inmates housed at our county jail. My department houses approximately 1,300 inmates at any given time, and being able to offer cost-effective options and fast options (considering in county jail, they are typically housed there for months not years like a prison), that can be rolled into an associates degree, will help with their rehabilitation and reintroduction into society.
This may seem like an impossible task, but I will take any advice or recommendation you experts have!

Hello all,
Does anyone have experience getting doctoral credit from Liberty University through their Experience Plus or Credit by Portfolio programs? Or experience going through that process? I am interested to see what that looks like, what doctoral programs accepted the most credit through that method, and what may have been attempted but denied. Their website says you must have experience in education, business, counseling, or missions but it doesn't necessarily say degree programs that will accept portfolio credit are restricted to degrees just in those fields.
Any other advice for work/life experience or alternative credits for doctoral programs would greatly be appreciated. Always looking at ways of shaving off a few bucks and some time.
Thanks in advance,
J

Hello all,
I've checked the forum quite a bit to find this information and haven't had luck yet.
I am awaiting grading for the ASU Grad Cert for Global Management stemming from the Thunderbird/100 Million Learners Program. I've got a couple other graduate degrees already and I just enjoy learning and stacking creds. Does anyone have recommendations on the best places to transfer those 15 hours towards another program? I don't want to spend out-of-state tuition to continue the masters program at ASU that will accept those courses.
Also, does anyone know what the actual ASU Grad Cert in Global Management looks like, including the physical size of the cert? If it's a decent looking cert, of course it will be framed and added to my "me" wall at the office.
Thanks in advance!

I received my welcome email from Chelsey Parker at UMPI on 2/6/25. All my transcripts have been evaluated and I can see all of that in my UMPI account. I have tried several times to schedule a call with Chelsey to no avail. But I actually don't even know if I need to talk with her. I need to talk with an advisor.
In my account under "Advisor" it says "none assigned". How do I get an advisor assigned to me?
I really need to discuss my degree plan and register for the Spring semester.
Also, I wanted to talk with the advisor about taking courses on Sophia learning and transferring those to UMPI. I didn't begin Sophia until after I had my other transcripts accepted by UMPI because I needed to see what requirements I would have remaining to fulfill in Gen Ed. I wanted to wait until I spoke with my advisor before beginning Sophia in order to explain my plan and make sure they were ok with it. But I want to take the Sophia courses before beginning the Spring term with UMPI. So I went ahead and began to take the courses.
UMPI accepted 79 transfer credits.
Here are the remaining Gen Ed credits needed and the Sophia Courses I plan to take to fulfill them:
2D Visual Communications (completed)
3A Intro to College Math (completed)
3B Statistics ***Do I need to take another Math course or can Intro to College Math fulfill both 3A and 3B?***
3D Chemistry ***I already have Bio with a lab so Chemistry without a lab should fulfill this requirement, right?***
30 credits remaining which will need to be fulfilled at UMPI:
21 credits in History ***I have fulfilled all of the basic LL History credits and 3 credits of UL History***
9 credits in Electives
Advice?
