Can anyone here comment on the course content? I know its MUCH cheaper than excelsior information literacy but seems like it could be way more involved.

Exam Format(s)
The Mid-course exam and the Final exam consist of short-answer, multiple-choice, matching, and true/false questions.

Exam Proctor
All exams must be taken with a proctor. LSU students will test in the Independent and Distance Learning Testing Office. All other Louisiana students should test at approved Louisiana testing sites. Out of state students must arrange for an approved proctor. An approved proctor, generally, is a university testing facility or administrator, military education office, or other such facility.

How the final grade is assessed
Graded Assignments = 40% of final course grade
Mid-Course Exam = 30%
Final Comprehensive Exam = 30% points

Just failed Comp w/o essay. It was unbelievably hard. Please tell me that the Comp w/essay is easier. Which parts of the 90 question mc are not on the 45 mc version????

For those that have taken Statistics and Finance or Business Math, which calculator will do the job for all exams? I have read on the board that the TI36X is a good one to use for stats and the BAII is good for Finance.

Hi all, I just joined IC an I am totally amazed at the resources that I am seeing! Wow!! But it is all so confusing for me too - I am trying to make sense of it all - probably trying to read it all too quickly..lol..

From what I am reading, basically its Excelsior and Thomas Edison that one can basically test out of all classes for a degree? I am looking to pull all my credits together and put them towards one degree asap....any suggestions would be appreciated.

To start?? choose Excesior or Thomas Edison? then send them my transcripts? Would an advisor help me decide which degree I am the closes to completing or is that all up to me?

I really enjoy this forum. Hopefully someone can help me out here. I finally got an official evaulation late today. The advising office I'm sure is closed till monday and i'm wanting to graduate as soon as possible.

I was told I need two more upper level courses. However, I took principles of finance at a community college and I notice there is a dantes class called principles of finance that is awarded upper level credit. I did call a few weeks ago and asked if principles of finance would be upper level and that i took it at a community college but they said classes taken at a community college are always lower level.

Is this accurate? If it is the same course, why would I get lower level credit at a brick and mortar but upper level with dantes?

If they are wrong then I only have one more class to go. This would be very welcome news. As always, I know Excelsior has the final word, but can anyone chime in? Better yet, has anyone taken principles of finance at a community college (or university) and received upper level credit?

Here's the story I need to take 5 cleps by the end of August. I need 6 social sciences credits so I was thinking of taking the two psych exams. Other than that what are the absolute easiest exams I could possibly take since I only need elective credits and then I am DONE! hilarious

I hate to sound lazy but I would like to do the least amount of work possible since I have a major case of senoritis right now. I've busted my butt this year starting with 36 credits last August. That means a total of 84 credits in one year! Needless to say I'm j usta little burnt out with school and work. I tell you I'm taking one serious vacation when I graduate.

I've already taken Analyzing Lit, Principles of Mgmt and DSST Race to Save the Planet. I heard Intro to Computers is pretty easy.You guys have always given the best advice so I appreciate your feedback.

I just got back my evaluation from TESC. I still need 1 credit in Natural Sciences. I can't believe they can't apply that one credit from any of the many credits I have already taken. That is not fair!!!!!

Any suggestions for an easy one credit? Please go easy as Accounting has just fried my brain temporarily. :o

DANTES Principles of Public Speaking is up next! Questions:

1.) Anyone out there passed this DSST test?
2.) If you have passed it (and congratulations for you, by the way!) did you have prior experience with "communicating professionally"--like speaking to large groups, debate, etc.?
3.) What did you find was the hardest thing about this test?

I've heard a lot about how impossible this test is, but I refuse to let that intimidate me ! Study hard, pray hard and attack the test; do or die; pass, great! fail, you tried your best; refuse self-pity--that's a sure recipe for a DSST disaster

If any of you out there have suggestions/comments for/about this test, I'm all ears!

So I went back to the ACE website today to see if I could figure out their process.

My quandry is that I was able to identify several courses that I've taken, and I have the certificates, and mostly they are from international organizations.

But I've taken nearly all of these overseas and probably not with the same companies as listed in ACE's website https://www.acenet.edu/nationalguide/index.cfm e.g. I have ITIL certifcations but did not take them from LearningTree (which is listed as the ACE provider)

Any ideas how I could get credit for these types of things?
I've sent an email to ACE with a similar question, just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this...
I'm also confused because these are for the courses, not about if you've actually passed the exam. I would assume the PMP certification (not just the course) is worth 9-12 UL project management courses

Thoughts anyone?
