Hi. I'm new to this web site. I 'm required to finish a social science, math, humanities and written/public speaking ASAP for a job requirement. I just took the sociology clep and think I did ok. Is instant cert enough to get me all these classes clepped? Any info would be much appreciated. I dont have that much time so I need to pass them all the first time. I'm debating which one to take next. I'm thinking one for the humanities credit. Which is the easiest?? I was looking at the ethics in america or world religions.
Thanks!

I just found out that my college also takes ECE tests. I have to achieve a certain score or grade for my college's requirements to get credit.
However I can't seem to find a testing center that offers them in my area...Indiana.
I registered on the Excelsior site, but the part of the web site that lists testing centers is down.
As I understand it, theses tests are online, and results are sent immediately just like CLEPS?
Any advice on finding test centers. One site said that the centers used to be Sylvan technology centers?
Thanks,
CT

Friday when I went in to take my CLEP at our local community college the proctor hit me with a surprise. She said that I have to go in Monday(today) and talk with the registar of the school and register at the college before I can continue taking tests there. This floored me as I had asked before I went out there if they proctored for the community and not just students and was told yes. I watched very closely this time as she set up my computer for the test and noticed that she was having the results sent to our community college. I asked her about it and she said that is the way she is supposed to do it. I also noticed that "Do not send" was an option. I am wondering if that is what she should be choosing and am looking for any information from those of you who are more experienced before I go out to meet with the registar this afternoon. I think that I may be their first one from the community doing this so the more I know before I go the better.
Thank you in advance for your help,

Hello everyone,
Now that I have a moment to catch up, here's the feedback for last Friday's test. This is one of the easier exams, I'm told, and after taking it I would agree. IC and looking up some of the terms or people at Wikipedia will be plenty.
There were 8 to 9 questions that dealt with knowing the different philosphers/psychologists and what they were connected with, ie. behaviorism, humanism, psychoanalysis, etc. A couple of questions layed out a scenerio and then asked you to match which psychologist would most likely have been involved.
On the version I had, there were about 3 questions that dealt with the structures and functions of the human eye, ie. cornea, retina, cones, rods, etc. Which one is connected to the ability to see color? Which is involved with depth perception? And so on.
There were easily 7 or 8 questions that dealt with learning. Understand classical conditioning, operant conditioning, observational learning, cognitive process, etc. The four cognitive stages should be memorized.
Hope this is helpful,

I know that most of the threads here are CLEP/DANTES related, but sometimes one needs to take a course to complete their degree.
I am wondering if anyone here has ever taken a course from Penn Foster?

Replacing credit; Excelsior College |

Had a question for any Excelsior students that have experience with this.
I have 6 credits from when I went to college right after high school. They are both Humanity credits; a total of 6.
Comm 101 intro to speech I got a D.
And Arts 100 I got a C.
I want to take the 6 credit Humanity clep. Can I replace those two grades above with the humanity clep? I want to improve my GPA and can't let that "D" ride on my transcript. Any info would be appreciated.

for Ethics in America. I feel that there is so much information that is redundent(natural law and such) and I am really busting my tail studying as much as I can and doing some more indept searching on certain subjects that are talked about on the IC website, but are not in great depth. I feel that I was doing fine until the scenerios and now I am quite frankly ready to give up. I feel that I know my "stuff" but when it comes to the scenerios I want to cry. Then I looked at the fact sheet about the test and want to bawl. I was so confused when it came to the scenerios.
So, I need some insight here. I know that I have read on here that there are a lot of scenerio questions, but I feel like I am in some awful trouble. Are they Yes(a) and No(b) questions on the test or are there multiple choice?(I know I do not want to know the answer to this). Honestly, what kind of scenerios should I really be concentrating on, a lot of names or certain principles that those people have made? Can anyone remember what they saw on their test and is there an easy way to understand how they are worded? Is there a essay? If so, what was that like? I was thinking of taking the test this Wednesday, but I am giving up on that. I am shooting for next Wednesday now. That is, if I don't give up.
HELP!
