  Algebra & Calc. Videos
Posted by: brianb - 11-23-2007, 01:13 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (7)

Anyone know were I can get some Algebra and eventually Calculus videos? Preferably online videos and something that's not going to break the bank. Not to mention something that starts out w/a beginner level so I can relearn what I took in high school.

  Clep, Dante PDF
Posted by: Shadowless - 11-22-2007, 10:16 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - No Replies

Hello everyone! I am new here and have been reading the forum the past week. I am addicted! So much great information and interesting reads, I love it.

Mr. Redshaw was kind enough to send me a PDF attachment for a Dante Test to study for, I printed it out and very impressed. I was wondering if anyone else had any PDF study materials that wouldn't mind emailing me, I could use any PDF material possible as I am very behind the rest of you fellow forumers in terms of credits and classes.

Any material would be welcomed, thank you so very much for your time and efforts!

Here's my email address....

[email protected] (preferred)

or [email protected]

Again, thank you very, very much!

  business Law experiencing study resistance!
Posted by: aisha38 - 11-22-2007, 05:02 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

Hi everbody... I"m hating studying the IC for Business Law. EW. absolutely not fun. .. i went through ic one time,, except didn't do that very last scenario section.. do i haaaaaaave tooooooooo?

I kinda think,, after taking my last three cleps,, and passing all three.. (american government barely) and having known the IC (inside and out)... didn't really guarantee I would pass...plus I read that business law is 'easy'.. and not as in depth as the ic... .. .. : ) excpet that I'm scared of failing so I always try to study 'hard'. I"m hoping its going to be an 'obvious' 'easy' 'reason out' 'process of elimination' kind of test..

and if you guys noticed.. in the ic scenario questions.. most of the answers are 'no' -not gonna work out that way.. was wondering if the test had most answers as 'no'.. ---not that that means anything cuz you can always get a different version of a test..

Smile .. SCREAM. got tons left to doooo... on wednesday gonna take my next three cleps

1. business law.
2. management
3. human growth and development.

the week after,, either history 1, and 2,.. or biology. but i'll only have a few days to study. .. hmmm...and i heard biology is hard plus 2000 questions!!! WAIL.

hilarious (trying to pretend its alllllllll okayyyyyyy)
anyways. .. I hope I pass.

  What are you thankful for?
Posted by: Machelle - 11-21-2007, 09:17 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (4)

Hi Everyone!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! What am I thankful for? I am thankful for good friends, my wonderful children, my health, good job, and the fact that I am so close to finishing my degree with the help of IC.

Please don't forget this year to take a break from studying to be thankful for all that you have. God is so good.

BS Liberal Studies or BS Liberal Arts??
Posted by: Katterina - 11-21-2007, 05:43 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (2)

I just graduated last week from Excelsior with what I thought was a BS in Liberal Studies. That is what it has been called on nearly every document I've seen from them. However, I am looking at my unofficial transcript and see that it is listed as the following:

Degree: Bachelor of Science
Program: Liberal Arts
Focus Area: Health Prof.
Psychology
Conferred: 11/16/07

So, I'm thinking that if this is listed the same way on the official transcripts, then my degree is really a BS in Liberal Arts? I know it is splitting hairs, but I wouldn't want to list it wrong on my resume, since the transcript is what prospective employers will be looking at.

Has anyone seen how they actually list the BSL degrees on an official transcript?

Also, to other Excelsior grads, how is your degree listed? And how would you put it on your resume?

  Intro to Computer Applications
Posted by: bulentk - 11-21-2007, 04:47 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

I took the test today. I have been studying for it almost for 3 weeks with IC and finally I decided to take the test. To be honest I was stunned with the questions that came up. 85% of the questions were never mentioned at IC. So I had to guess alot. When I received the score in the end it gave me a 48.
The report says my clep score is 48 and my ACE score is 50.
Did I pass it or not? I am truly confused. A score of 50 with ACE says I passed and need to get 3 credits towards it. I am an Embry Riddle Student and I don't know their grading policy either.
Can anyone help me?

I passed the exam today with a 75! I wanted to take the exam prior to Thanksgiving, so I could enjoy my turkey and football!!

I would recommend anyone taking the exam to use the REA book. It is a great resource. I used instacert, but only went through 2 or 3 of the sections.
