  Clep Test Tomorrow
Posted by: t0pflite05 - 11-27-2007, 06:34 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (6)

Tomorrow I'm taking the Principles of Microeconomics test. I feel pretty good about it because I took the Peterson practice tests and scored a 54, 71, and 68.
Does anyone think there's anything I should do before tomorrow?

  Good Thoughts, etc.
Posted by: cinderly - 11-27-2007, 02:21 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (10)

Gang,

I try to keep my private life mostly that, but I'm worried enough that I'll take any help I can get. I just found out last night that my youngest brother (15) is going in for surgery today -- he broke his leg pretty badly this weekend and my dad (64) is going in for angioplasty tomorrow. Obviously, I'm more worried about my dad - a 90% arterial blockage is no small thing, but I'm scared for both boys.

Any good thoughts or other forms of magical thinking you can spare are appreciated. My parents moved far away, so I can't spend the day with my mom, supporting her, like I'd like to. Good thoughts and distant support are about all I can offer at this point.

Thanks and thanks for reading.

IC scores - when's a good time to test?
Posted by: pmj - 11-27-2007, 03:01 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

Hello folks, long time lurker, newly registered IC subscriber.

I've been hacking away at Intro to Business Law, and getting pretty good scores (between 50-75%).

Is there a point at which you just gotta jump and take the test? Do folks hit 100's on their IC's before taking the tests?

Guess I'm itching to get started, by drawn back by the 180-day rule on retakes.

Any advise?

A&I Lit - same as REA and Peterson's practice?
Posted by: CanadaKait - 11-26-2007, 11:14 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (6)

Having been great in English way back in high school, I thought the Analyzing and Interpreting Lit practice tests would be a breeze - I was wrong!

I just took the REA test and scored 57 (which was 56%; 45/80 questions right) so that can't possibly be a pass, can it? I got 70% on the Peterson's, so that's a bit better. This whole scoring thing is not quite making sense yet!

Is the actual test as difficult as the practice ones? I've been reading all of the tips posted here, so I'm hoping that will help, but I'm just not getting it.

Test is on Saturday, and I need these 6 credits by Dec. 1.

Thanks!
Kait

PS - passed the Here's To Your Health two weeks ago thanks to all of the tips on here!!

[SIZE="2"]To all that have taken both CLEP Principles of Management and DANTES Principles of Supervision [COLOR="navy"]how much overlap is there and what singular source of information (outside of IC) did you use?

  ECE Organizational Behavior Question
Posted by: blueyzz28 - 11-26-2007, 04:20 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - No Replies

For those that have taken and succesfully passed the Excelsior Organizational Behavior exam, how much time did you dedicate to studying?

I plan on using IC, the practice exams, and the Stephen Robbins book Essentials of Organizational Behavior. I typically study 3 or 4 weeks for my exams, but since this is an ECE exam and upper-level credit, just thought some of you may have an opinion on the amount of time needed to pass the exam.

Thanks,

Took Management, Supervision, & Heres to your health today
Posted by: barbara2bba - 11-26-2007, 02:52 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

Used cliffnotes.com and IC for management & scored a 73, used 2 petersons practice tests and very little IC for supervision and scored a 63, and used IC only for Heres to your Health with a 61.

Now on to marketing and business!
