I'm took a practice test and don't understand the answer given.
A toy manufacturing firm sold its product through a toy wholesaler, who in turn sold to appropriate retailers. The manufacture's price is $20 to the wholesaler, whose markup is usually 20 percent on the selling price to the retailer. If the retailer's markup on the selling price to the customer is 50 percent, what is the price to the customer.
24.00
30.00
36.00
37.50
50.00
I had selected 36 dollars because 20% markup of 20 dollars to retailer would make the price 24 dollars. 50% markup of 24 dollars is 12 dollars and would make the price 36 dollars.
The answer is actually 50 dollars. Can somebody help me on this?
This test is very Vague. I can't understand how somebody actually says if you watch TV you can pass this test. I read the entire Principles of Marketing a Detailed Tutorial From KnowThis.com which took 3 days, the REA study guide twice, and InstantCert twice, and scored only 28/50 on the CLEP Principles of Marketing study guide I bought for 10 bucks.
well see how my first REA practice test is going to be. Hoping to read the 70 page REA study again, and go over the InstanctCert twice more and do the three REA practice test as I have the exam this Wed

| What is the benefit of having a degree if it is not related to your career field? |

The reason I ask this is because I see many people getting a degree in Liberal Studies. I know that the Liberal Studies degree would be much faster for me to obtain, but it does not correlate with my career field (Information Technology). I have since changed toward MIS (Management Information Systems) which is a Business Degree.
I was just wondering what the benefit of attaining a non-related degree would be. At first I thought that having a 4 year degree would fulfill position requirements just to get to the interview, but I see now that many IT based positions require degree in related field or equivalent experience, and the same with management positions.
The BIGGEST benefit I can see is for military purposes, enlisted vs officer.

....the 590 bucks I have to pay EC due to the fact I switched to option #2 on my military plan. I didn't take the necesary 11 credits (minus time served with the paltry IL class!). So I had to pay half the difference (590$). I ponied up my already groaning Visa card and paid the fee. I don't know really what comes next, which is my question to all of you who have finished with EC.
Other than recieving your diploma in the mail, did anyone opt to walk down an isle at a graduation ceremony? I am out here in CA land, so flying out to NY is a little prohibitive. While I don't need to stroke my ego with this kind of thing, is it even an option?
I will let you all know what my final GPA is, I asked for the non-necesary credit drop in favor of GPA enhancement. As the holidays approach, I am sure that no one will even see my graduation request until early January.
Since this is the last hoorah, here is something I was toying with:
My break-down for my actual costs are as follows:
IC (1 year)= 240$
Info Lit= 280$
Registration= 50$
Yearly Fee= 790$
Text Books at Goodwill (Orange County, CA)= 19.50$
Military Testing= 0.00$
Thank-You card for my Education Service Officer= 3.00$
Total So Far= 1382.50$
Hopefully I will recoup some of this money through grants etc from the military. If not that is still pretty damn cheap for a 4 year Bachelors Degree!
Thanks to everyone here that has helped me on this one. I am not declaring victory on this until I get the diploma in my hands, but as they say, wake up the fat lady, she's on in 5....

I have been doing a search on this board, and can't find the answer to this question. I am enrolled in the BS in Liberal Arts program at Excelsior. I have seen that the maximum applied professional credits in the business degree can only accept 15 fema credits as a maximum. Does anyone know if Excelsior has the same requirement for the Liberal Arts program?
Also, I am not sure if surpassing the 15 fema credits would be considered a negative by prospective employers if indeed I can exceed the 15 for the liberal arts electives. Thoughts....
Love this board.
Thanks!
