  UMPI YourPace Applied Science
Posted by: degreeboundFF - 05-10-2026, 08:44 PM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (4)

Planning out my B.A.S. now that I've gotten to it being the next(ish) step.

I have an A.A.S., and a slew of credits beyond that. I also have a very restrictive work T.A. list of approved degrees, of which B.A.S. is the most logical overall.

Has anyone done this degree before? Have any suggestions on classes better done via Sophia/Study instead? All I should need is to do 30 hours and graduate. I do wish there was a "free trial" to test out the CBE system first!

Thanks all

UMPI - BLS (Pre-Law, Project Management, MIS)
Posted by: Bcopeland64 - 05-09-2026, 12:09 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (1)

Hello All,

I am interested in completing a BLS at UMPI. As the title suggests, I am looking to minor in Pre-law, Project Management, and MIS. Ultimately, I am interested in AI ethics, risk, and compliance. I feel these minors will help to achieve that goal. I am also currently enrolled in Sophia and will soon enroll in Study.com as well. What I am looking for are courses that will cover the electives of the minors in question. Hopefully, someone here can suggest electives at both the  lower and upper levels that can be taken on both platforms that will cover the electives of those three minors. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Doctor of Education in Computer Science

Judson University has a blended Doctor of Education in Computer Science. I would think that it's an EdD, but the abbreviation is DCS. I can't tell if the cost of the program is $37,500, $45,000, or more. Those who are in the LGBTQ community should know that Judson is not LGBTQ-friendly.

The DAS program at University of Idaho is online, except the 8 weeks of on-campus labs during the summer. The program is three years, costs $56,000, and culminates with a research project and practicum.

ACE Certificate in Texas Educational Leadership
Posted by: darthweezy - 05-08-2026, 08:18 AM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - No Replies

Can anyone give me information on ACE's Certificate in Texas Educational Leadership?  I'm mainly interested in the format and if it can be accelerated.  As I am searching for different EPP's through TEA in Texas, ACE popped up as one of the approved providers and I know the college is talked about on here often.

I plan to reach out to them later today to try and get more information but their phone's have been down.

Smile Credit Calculus / Statistics Courses
Posted by: Bcopeland64 - 05-06-2026, 03:20 AM - Forum: Saylor.org, Straighterline, Study.com, Sophia.Org, Coursera Discussion - Replies (6)

Hello All,

I am looking for credit courses in Calculus and Statistics that are offered online outside of platforms like Study.com, Straighterline, and Sophia. In fact, I am looking for programs similar to Oxford's Lifelong Learning platform. Additionally, I am not looking to break the bank on course costs. If you can suggest a credit-offering program, whether ECTS, CATS, or ACE credits, I would be extremely grateful.
