I'm looking for a 12 to 16-month program that is fully asynchronous and offered by a non-profit institution. I was initially interested in South College, but the for-profit model and diploma mill reputation are turn-offs. Ideally, I’d like a program that leans more towards exams and testing rather than being heavily writing-intensive. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
Completed Degree(s):

Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration

Dude, I'm not sure your requests are really compatible with each other. And who says that South College is a diploma mill? I'm looking at doing the DBA there after I finish the MAcc at WGU next month, but a Doctoral degree with minimal writing? That seems like a pipe dream. Any legitimate institution will have you writing a ton before the dissertation stage to make sure you are at the doctoral writing level itself.
South College just introducted a capstone versus dissertation option starting in May. It seems due primarily for the reason that EdD's are moving in that direction but it's really just a 4 chapter dissertation versus 5 chapter lol. Well, good luck in your search.

Finding an Ed. D. program with all those requirements will be hard. Most programs take at least 2.5 - 3 years to complete. South College is not a degree mill and holds regional accreditation. Although "for-profit," it is affordable and allows you to move quickly with classes. South College is one of the fastest competency-based Ed. D. programs I have seen besides Capella University. Most doctoral programs are all paper writing, as a doctoral degree is a research degree requiring heavy writing-intensive courses; the amount of writing/page length of each paper varies by school, program, and professor.
As a suggestion, you can look at Liberty University Ed. D. or The University of the Cumberlands Ed. D. both accept transfer credits towards their degree and could be finished in 12-16 months if you double or triple up on classes every semester. I believe that the University of the Cumberlands accepts master's transfer credits towards the Ed.D in educational leadership (18 to be exact), cutting out courses and time from the degree in which they have a specialty emphasis in business, which you can apply your MBA credits towards, leaving you with 42 credits to complete. I believe classes run 8 weeks long each, and it is asynchronous with a reasonable cost of $415 per credit. They also offer a DBA and Ph.D in leadership studies. Many people on this forum and the sister forum have completed degrees from the University of the Cumberlands, including doctoral degrees, the writing of which is reasonable up to the dissertation phase, but that's the same with all schools. A dissertation showcases your learning, understanding, research, and expertise of the subject matter presented and defended. It requires challenge and rigor to pass the dissertation phase, which not many accomplish, leaving them as ABD.
Let me quickly run an example of the time frame it may take: You need 42 credits. You take 6 credits per term (8 weeks each), leaving you with 7 terms, which is 56 weeks for the University of the Cumberlands Ed.D program. Now, you must account for the breaks between classes and vacation time when the school is closed. I am not entirely sure of the time between each course, but I'm sure with a bit of research, you can find an academic calendar.
I wish you luck in your search and hope this helps narrow down your search.

William Woods University offers an online Ed.D. Most of the students in my methods class were Ed.D. students, and that program is CHEA accredited, I believe. All grad programs have moved to the 5-week template, so without transfer credits, it would take you about 2 years. I'm not familiar with the transfer policy, so you'll need to contact admissions directly.
COSC AS 2019 - completed
COSC BSBA 2020 - completed
Cumberland School of Law M.S.L 2022 - completed
UA - MS Hospitality Management 2024 - completed
WWU - PhD 2025 - in progress

My recommendation if I was in your shoes... I would investigate all the EDD programs from ACE.edu and also create a short list from the ones listed on the sister board (DegreeInfo) and on this board (DegreeForum). Once you have that shortlist, drop it down to your top choices and have at least one as a back up option, such as the ACE.edu being the backup or whatever... Provide us that list and we'll give recommendations...

Doesn't look like they have CAEP accreditation for their Ed.D. program, but, honestly, I'm not sure how important CAEP is for a leadership and adult learning in organizations program. I'm more familiar with the value of business school programmatics.
