post-degree non-traditional credits
#1
Hi, I know this is probably difficult and it isn't the norm but I'm hoping someone here on the forum has done this or knows someone who has.

How can someone who has already graduated with a BA get additional non-traditional credits (like CLEP, ACE, NCCRS) on a transcript from a regionally accredited college?

This might be a tough one but I appreciate any ideas. Thank you!

You could apply to TESU for a second bachelor's, then just in send whatever credit you earn rather than actually complete the degree. However, you'd have to take at least one TECEP to get enrolled. You could also sign up for their Individual Learning Account, but that costs more.

Apply as a second bachelors at TESU in any random major different from the first degree. Enroll in (but not take) a TECEP if you need more than two evals. I don't think TESU will be friendly to this method if you ask them since they have a much more expensive option for credit banking. I deliberately did not get an AA so I could use this option later.

This is genius. Why didn't I think of that lol? Thanks so much!

My first Bachelor's degree was in Humanities. Would a BA in Foreign Languages be considered different enough? Actually, is the BA in foreign languages still even a possibility? I haven't paid attention to all the recent changes so I guess I need to figure all that out.

Actually, it looks like the credit banking is about $300 so that's not bad.

I obtained 52 hours of CLEP and DSST at my local community college after completing my master's degree. At first I put 42, then I remembered it was 52. Biology and chemistry were transcribed as 8 hours each.

Hmmm. I'd have to think about that. Do you mean apply for the degree but not finish? So I can get my post-BA Ace credits transcripted at TESU?

With a name like clep3705, that does not surprise me lol.

I can see what non-traditional credits my local community college will accept. I think TESU might be my best bet since I know they accept ACE credits, specifically through ACTFL for foreign language. I did notice that TESU requires paperwork from both ACTFL and Ace I order to grant credit. I don't know if that's the case at other colleges as well.

Excelsior College does this. They charge a fee for the update. Not per test, but per update. No fee for the UExcels. They are added on your transcript "below the degree line".
