online Web Development degrees

Eye of the beholder, I would say.  If I was in similar shoes, I would get a quick/simple Bachelors to get me in the door to the Masters, and that is where my focus would be at... a Masters in whatever field that interests me the most. If I wanted a 'mix/mash' of Entrepreneurship/Innovation (Business/IT mix)... an example is, this Silicon Valley Masters for $15K... https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...30-credits | My only suggestion is not get stuck at finishing the Associates, or Bachelors and getting ready for the Masters...

I was interested in Web stuff because I thought if it was going to take me a long time to get the degree, I would have a better chance if I was genuinely interested in the stuff I was learning. I've worked as a regular programmer for a long time, so I could also opt for a programming degree.  I guess the fastest degree for me, with my programmer background, would be to go to WGU for Software Engineering, do the 3 certs, then take as many classes at Sophia/Study.com as possible, and then finally enroll for the last classes. Maybe I'll just do that. I download Josh Madakor's list of where to take the various classes, so I could follow that.

It sounds like Franklin University is a little more ambiguous on which Sophia courses you can take. If FU is like WGU, without the certs, and was for a web degree - that might be fast and the topic I like. I will call someone at FU and talk to them about how they can be accelerated.

That's an interesting concept, but there are relatively fast tracks to a degree, so please give them a chance before settling on a longer path.

This is pertinent information. Your experience gives you several options.

This is a great option. Here are some transfer possibilities:
https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/BSSWE.aspx

The PSM certification, for instance, is one test that is relatively quick to study for and take. Also, if you happen to have Java 8 certification already, then that will knock out a class or two.

You can also see the specific transfers for Sophia: https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/Single.as...62&pid=169
and Study.com: https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/Single.as...42&pid=169
There are others that you can find, but they mostly overlap: https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/Partners.aspx

As for the certifications that are part of the degree, Project+ isn't necessary (covered by a Sophia course), AWS Cloud Practitioner is relatively easy and quick, so might as well let WGU pay for it (unless your employer will), and ITIL is expensive, and also not too bad to prepare for, so most take it at WGU.

That spreadsheet can help, but he directs people to Study.com more than he should because of his referral bonus, so it's better to use it as a starting point to customize your degree plan. I recommend you start with Sophia and see how you do with the self-paced courses, and if you enjoy it and do well, move on to Study.com, then WGU. The courses I recommend at Study.com are English 305, PS102, CS108, CS204, CS303, CS201, and especially CS113. Also, don't try to complete any alternate credits to transfer WGU's Scripting and Programming Foundations or Natural Science Lab - they're easier at WGU than anywhere else.

I also recommend the WGU Unofficial discord: https://discord.gg/unwgu
