Maybe current students and alumni can request the school update its diploma style  Smile

I have to agree. This looks better but I rather they stick with traditional diplomas should look like. The Diploma they are offering looks like some teen could have printed out from photoshop. The font looks juvenile, I think it’s an insult to graduates to be receiving such diploma that looks so fake. UMPI can do better than that. The fact they are lazy and making parchment print them out to us say much about the university itself. All that money they profiting with sleazy Diploma. Its my opinion but I personally would not hang that parchment questionable Diploma on my wall. ( we should complain)

Wow! It's not a matter of being lazy. UMPI is a VERY small school and is struggling to keep up with the growth of YourPace. All that money? What are you talking about? It's $1500 for 8 weeks where you take as many courses as you can complete. That's a bargain! They have to pay professors and staff out of those funds. YourPace isn't bringing millions of dollars.

I have to agree with ss20ts here.  I don't think UMPI is making a killing on YourPace.  If anything, I'd say they are only breaking even with the amount of students that are hyper-accelerating their degress to completion.  The diploma doesn't appeal to me either from an aesthetic point of view but I don't think it is some nefarious plan by the UMPI administration to save a few pennies; it's more likely just a lack of taste on the part of whomever chose the design.  Utilizing a third party to print and mail the diplomas seems like a no-brainer.  I would assume, without having any real knowledge on the issue, that most universities no longer have their own printing facilities and utilize some sort of service for this work whether it be a local print shop or a large 3rd party like Parchment.
