FYI, you might want to run some of these sentences through an AI checker. I would STRONGLY suggest you do that, in fact.

I'd also focus more on an explanation of how/why it happened as opposed to an acknowledgement that it happened. I don't know the UMPI's policy, but I know the school I work at would absolutely not accept this as an explanation.
