Know the terms and people Durkhem, Frued ect... very well. If you memorize these you should be fine. I took Sociology right after this and passed with no problems the two cross over a lot. check out the threads listed here and you should be fine. Good luck.

Look at the specific exam feedback section. If you feel like you aren't prepared enough, study some more or if you can, I recommend taking the Sociology CLEP instead. Good Luck!

I'm getting ready for this Intro to Psych and was wondering if it's really as easy as the review here in IC? I don't want to gynx myself or anything, but I've done my Psych class for nursing, developmental psych, A&P which had some psych stuff, and all this seems to be plain review:eek: . Is it just me or will this test be basic Psychology?? How in depth should I review? I've read some post and there aren't too many that are helpfull. I have the sparknotes101 book for extra study. Please someone let me know. Thanks and Happy-Safe New Year!!

Not sure if you've already considered this, but if you don't need your credit before March, you might consider asking your advisor if they will accept a UExcel test as the equivalent. The beta test period is still going on so you can get free credit instead of paying for a CLEP exam. Here's the link:
UExcel - Exams Use the coupon code "UEXCELFREE" and they waive the testing fee.
Also, if you haven't already checked it out, Annenberg Media has a great selection of free psychology-related video series:
Resource: Discovering Psychology: Updated Edition
Resource: The Brain: Teaching Modules
Resource: The World of Abnormal Psychology
Resource: The Mind: Teaching Modules
UC Berkeley has a good Intro. to Psych. lecture online as well:
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Good luck with your exam!

Why don't you try signing up for InstantCert? It helped me pass nealry all of my exams. What do you have to lose? $10? Not going to Starbucks as much would help anyone pay for this service. Give it a shot.

ok I'll reply to my own post. This maybe will help someone along the wayhilarious ! I've found good tips in the specific exam section. They appear to be good, but who knows, I test on Jan 16 and will see until then. For anyone confused with the format of this forum (like me), on the specific exam section under the search area I typed intro to psych and found alot of previous post appling to the test........I'll report back later after the test or if I find some more usefull info.
p.s. as for the previous post, I am enrolled with intantcert. this will be my second exam. Took Humanites last month, scored a 60!!
