How can I get lab credits?? Please help!!

Hello everyone, I would like to clep biology and anatomy/physiology, but don't know how to get the lab credits. I just don't want to waste my time taking the cleps if most schools won't accept them without a lab. Does anyone know of any schools that offer classes for lab credits? Any information would greatly be appreciated

Stop. Don't do it. Nursing programs are EXTREMELY competitive, and the classes you are talking about are all considered pre-reqs. Not only will you need A&P1, but you will also need A&P2 plus microbiology! Those need to be done on campus/butt in seat. Your GPA is the number 1 factor, please reconsider testing out of biology unless it is a prerequisite for A&P1. (in which case chemistry might also be required- available through CLEP) So, in summary- you might be able to CLEP your pre-reqs of your pre-reqs but not your actual program science courses.

For nursing advice, spend time at allnurses: A Nursing Community for Nurses Lots of great info.

Now- for CLEP advice. You can use CLEP for the rest of your gen eds! What do you need? Well, even at the associate (ADN) level you need human growth and development (CLEP) and nutrition (TECEP) so those are 2 for sure you can take. Additionally, you might need psychology (CLEP) and sociology (CLEP) and communications (English Comp CLEP or Speech CLEP). Some schools might ask for additional electives, but if you take biology and chem (as A&P pre-req) then that might already count.

I wasn't going to say anything on this board for a while, but I am applying to nursing school for spring start. Online labs are not the way to get into nursing school. You have a lot of other courses to test out of, just get the policy ahead of time so you know your options.

The nursing programs offered through TESC and EC are for registered nurses only- so it's an option later- but you still need your RN first, and getting that is no small task.

Have you looked into Thomas Edison State College? I'm getting my degree through there and am only taking one online class with them... the rest of my credit is through CLEP or DANTES. I know they have a nursing school... though they may require more online courses for that. Their website is Thomas Edison State College.

You just summed it all up for me There is no easy way around those science classes You just reminded me why I keep telling myself I need to take those courses on campus. I had to drop an online A&P class because it was pretty tough. And you're right, my GPA is most important so I need as much classroom interaction as possible. SAU Tech offers BioW/Lab and Anat/Physio I & II (both w/labs) online and very doable. The cost may scare you at $160.00 a cr hr, up from $120.00 last year. Your too late now for spring semester but they have shortened classes in May. Bio w/lab used all the prep quiz questions for the final. That is probably the case now. They also offer Phy Sci I & II w/lab. CSU-Pueblo offers World of Chemistry w/lab as a correspondence course and also Intro to Organic Chem w/lab, also a correspondence course. The chemistry class was very doable. As far as lab credits ONLY, I don't know of any.
