Which schools accept NCCRS?
#1
Is there a list on this board somewhere of which of our commonly discussed schools accept NCCRS recommendations? e.g. TESU, COSC, Excelsior, UMPI, WGU, Pierpont, TAMUC (and maybe some of the less commonly discussed ones like university of the people, walden, Capella, etc.)

If not, let's start one! I'll use it to update the NCCRS page on the Wiki.

NCCRS is not commonly accepted. UMPI in general doesn't accept NCCRS. They have in the past accepted 1 course from Study which is NCCRS. There probably is a wiki which discusses NCCRS acceptance. It might be on each individual college's page though. If you want to check out the wiki and then create whatever you think is missing go for it.

Some colleges that accept Study.com will often accept the NCCRS courses from Study.com.

Here is the Wiki page that lists all the Equivalency Charts for each college.

I know that most don't accept nccrs. That's why I thought it would be useful to just go ahead and list the policies for each school here and on the nccrs page on the wiki. Currently the wiki just says that the big three accept credit from nccrs, and gives a caveat for charter oak about it having to come from charter oak approved providers.

From looking at the tesu page, my understanding is that they generally do accept nccrs still. I have no idea about excelsior. I am looking to crowdsource the answers because I figured it shouldn't be that difficult to quickly compile information from people on this wiki who would know it off the top of their heads, versus me going and researching each individual school, even though I have no personal interest in applying to most of those schools (which means I'm not going to research it unless I get a lot of free time that I don't currently have).

Thanks for the info on UMPI!

Why the sudden interest in NCCRS courses? Especially when we know they're not widely accepted.

Because I'm curious and it's a gap in information on the wiki and I thought updating it might be helpful to others. In any case, I would like to keep the topic of this thread to my original question rather than discussing the merits of nccrs. If that means that there are no more comments on this thread because no one is trying to get nccrs and no one cares to contribute, then that will tell me I don't need to update the wiki.

The NCCRS sources we typically use are Davar, Coopersmith and Onlinedegree.com.

If you look at this page, it will show all the schools that accept OnlineDegree.com which is quite a few

Something to keep in mind....
Just because a college is on the list does not mean that they accept all of the courses.

I know CSU Global is VERY specific about which courses they accept from OnlineDegree.com. I attended CSU Global a few years ago and the are VERY picky about ACE and NCCRS courses.

To my knowledge TESU remains NCCRS friendly. I believe that the same can be said of Excelsior (EU).
