I finally applied and I'm just trying to get an idea on how to build a time management schedule for myself on a daily/weekly basis. I know the response will probably be "everyone's different" but I think it would be interesting to see the different response times. I work a full time 40 hour a week job but I'm single with no kids so there's nothing distracting me.

I did 10 classes in 10 days; however, I dedicated about 16 hours a day. I am on paternity leave and my wife agreed to take on all of the daily duties in efforts that I would finish quickly. This whole program is built on the competency approach; therefore, it all comes down to how fast YOU can do it. If you have no other obligations outside of your 40 hour work week, you should be able to dedicate 50+ hours a week towards your classes.

@Dlynn1219, Long time no chat, it's been a while since you last posted. Have you decided on the degree and have you completed any courses since then? For most members, in general it will take them 1 week per course, or two sessions for the 30 credits (10 courses). Depending on the degree and speed, if you need extra time, 3 sessions would do. You should really take the time to fill in the template/last post addendum here to provide us a detailed message on what you're looking for and your budget, commitments, study habits, etc. The more we know of your scenario, the more we'll know how long we can gauge a completion time. 10 classes in 10 days is not anywhere near the norm. According to UMPI YourPace staff, the average number of courses completed per session is 3-4 courses. The length of time it takes to complete a course will vary drastically from person to person.

My experience:
The least amount of time I spent on a competency was one day. The most was one week.
i completed 11 competencies and had time to spare, but I had finished my requirements and also added a minor so I stopped.
I am married with children, but didn't have to work while in session. My kids were in school full time and my husband was very supportive of me getting through the program quickly and did almost all the coooking and pretty much everything esle.
I spent the vast majority of my time between 7 am and 9 pm doing school work. I did take a few days off here and there and worked less on the weekends. But I still worked on the weekends.
I have strong test taking skills and write quickly.
I finished with a 4.0 and more A+s than As.
How much time YOU can devote to working on competencies is something only you can figure out. I was lucky to be able to budget time and money to have 2 sessions available where I would be able to work full time on school with few other responsibilities. My goal was to be able to complete one competency a week (but with the hope that I would be able to go a bit faster and finish 10-12 in one session instead of two.)
Also, while it is "YourPace" there are other, real people involved, and sometimes that means waiting for them. If you have a quesion for a professor, they may not answer right away. Grading can take a few days. Etc.

On average for me, about 5-7 days per class dedicating 2-3 hours per evening. By that math a minimum of 10 hours and a maximum of 21 hours. I scored As in all classes with a written assessment, the majority were A+ actually, 6 total. I didn't fair as well in the test classes, there were 2 out of the 10 classes I took, and I scored a B in both classes. My advice would be to dedicate some extra time to studying for classes with a test as the final assessment.

So far, it has taken me anywhere from 4 to 17 hours for each class start to finish. Since I am desperate to finish in one term, I've been tracking my time so I know how to adjust my schedule as the weeks go on. I hate writing but I'm fairly quick with it so if you're not a fast writer, take that into consideration. I took a couple of business classes that had no writing, just quizzes and a m/c final assessment. Those classes took me forever. As this is a CBE approach, classes with content you're already familiar with will fly by. I found I could skip a lot of the lessons and go straight to the milestones and final assessments for some. Other classes I had to go through the lessons multiple times. I started a class yesterday that I thought would take several weeks as it had multiple milestones, a final assessment that included 4 assignments and a lot of course content. I finished everything in 4 hours because I knew the material like the back of my hand. If I were starting over, I'd probably schedule out 10 hours per course, however that would be convenient for me. Many will probably be done in less time and some will take more.
For reference, I haven't taken a college class in over 15 years until I started this term a few weeks ago. I have the whole month of July off from work so I had a lot of time daily to work on classes. Caring for my 2 young kids during the day has slown me down a bit. As the 3rd week of the term is wrapping up, I've been able to fully complete 6 classes, working on the final for another and just started the first lesson on my 8th class. One class was open for almost 2 weeks and another only a few hours. Hope this all helps!
