I think this is a bad strategy on their part. In the History/political science Yourpace programme, it is not even possible to do the PS concentration with statistics 1 & 2, instead of foreign language 1 & 2. This is an option if you attend the regular university.
I have a bachelor and master degree in economics, so I fully understand where you are coming from. When you go past first year economics/finance, the subject becomes a lot more math heavy. Several universities I know of offer a combined bachelor degree in economics and mathematics. You could consider doing a master in economics/finance.
The economics course is a single course on campus. That's why the YourPace degrees require both macro & micro. I wonder if they haven't expanded the math options in YourPace is due to the difficulty of math. I know there were a number of issues with the science course. We also need to keep in mind that YourPace is only a few years old. I think this is the 5th year of YourPace. It has grown during this time to include new bachelor's degrees and UMPI's first ever master's degree. More degrees are in the works so more classes are coming. When I started in August 2020 French 1 was the only foreign language class available in YourPace. Spanish 1 came later. I asked about it every few weeks because I was told that it was coming. I signed up for it as soon as it became available. The difficulty of math probably.has something to do with it. I personally think UMPI YourPace would fare better if they included the CS programme with a good dose of math. They could easily create a business major with a concentration in informatics or analytics. They would just need to expand the existing BA programme with 5 or 6 courses and combine it with the MIS minor.

I don't like it as much, but Gradarius has Calculus: https://www.gradarius.com/ ALEKS is probably a good site if you want to learn the basics. But I am more interested in doing some statistics courses that are a little more advanced. I am pretty sure I could complete the courses without to much trouble, as I likely did similar courses 15- 20 years ago.

They could do Stats I through ALEKS and Stats II through themselves, though, instead of potentially only doing Stats I themselves and no Stats II.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

I dont know if understand the site properly, but does ALEKS offer courses that are ACE credits, or is it just a learning tool?
Even if it is the case that they offer ACE credit, it is still not possible to do Stats II, and they do not offer Stats II to at UMPI Yourpace.
It seems like there is a lower supply of ACE math and stats courses, than is demanded. Even the biggest provider, Study.com, has a very limited supply of math courses, and its all LL or precollege.

ALEKS does two things. 1. It offers study materials and ACE credit to individuals. 2. It offers customized courses, using the ALEKS platform, to schools. I've used ALEKS through both ASU and Strayer.
For individuals who need Stats, ALEKS offers Intro to Stats, Business Stats, Stats for Behavioral Sciences (though, you can only take one due to considerable overlap). I believe that what I took at Strayer was a slimmed down version of Business Stats.
UMPI could use ALEKS to offer a Stats I course with little/no additional effort from their teachers and staff. This would free up resources for a Stats II curriculum to be devised and implemented directly by UMPI itself.

UMPIs courses can be a bit confusing. They actually have 3 different LL statistics courses. MAT 101 Basic statistics, MAT 201 Probability & statistics and MAT 202 Probability & statistics.
I suppose MAT 101 is a watered down version of 201, as it does not require college algebra. The version I took at Sophia was quite good, and explained the concepts well. But there was little formal math in the course overall. The Intro to stats from Sophia transfers in as MAT 101. You were thinking, if I understand you correctly, that ALEKS could develop and offer MAT 201, while UMPI could offer MAT 202. It sounds plausible that ALEKS is offering, more or less, the same Intro to stats course in different versions. Sophia, Study and SL are also offering their version of the same basic course.
I am pretty sure there is a market for any course that goes beyond stats 101. Statistics is used in a bunch of areas in the natural and social sciences, and is more or less the cornerstone subject in data science. It is simply a mystery to me why so few are offering the subject online.

This is an interesting idea. I wonder how it would impact the cost of the YourPace program. UMPI has been big on keeping it affordable. They haven't raised tuition on it since it launched.

UMPI only launched their on campus CS program in January 2021. There's 1 professor for the program so far. from what I've been told I do believe that a CS/IT program will come eventually. They have to develop the whole YourPace program for it first. UMPI is a VERY SMALL school. There's about 1100 students on campus and a few hundred in YourPace. Its nothing like WGU or SNHU.

When paid for by the student, I think a 3-month access code for ALEKS is ~$100 for most classes. I have no idea how much a school like ASU is getting charged to give ALEKS access away for free. Absolutely no clue how much Gradarius would be.

$100 would allow for 5 or 6 months of individual access to ALEKS (including all courses): https://www.aleks.com/buy_aleks_now
Gradarius has a 1-week free trial and costs $10/month after that (either algebra or calculus): https://www.gradarius.com/info-for-learn-at-home

For individual pricing, yeah. ALEKS pricing is much higher for academic use, though, at least if you are a student.
