Hi,
I just want to inform people about this website. I was looking for extra materials for my wife to use in conjunction with Instantcert.com. They offer a study guide and email consultation with a previous test taker. I downloaded several of there several study guides and guess what Business law, Marketing, and Management where exactly the same. English composition, American Literature, English Literature, and Analyzing literature were all exactly the same. Natural Science and Chemistry had all the same information. College algebra same as Calculus. The last two had very small differences. They offer a full refund if you are unsatisfied with the study guides. They told me I would get a refund but to never hear from them again. I just want warn people about this group.

I am glad that this will help people stay away from this company. I really try to give people a chance but when they dont live up to their word that really disturbs me. I wish there was a website just like theirs but truly does live up to their word. I mean who wouldnt want someone to help them step by step for a clep exam. I personally I have never taken a clep or dsst but thought about it a couple of times. I am trying to get my wife to start on clep by this July. She is trying to earn her GED with the help of Instantcert.com. and Peterson. We are trying to get that out of the way first and then take a stab at CLEP and DSST. Any feedback would be great.

But thankfully only for one exam. I got the American Lit one and found so many inconsistencies with the College Boards guide that I didn't even use it. Any luck getting a refund from them? I never tried but I was curious if it would have worked.

I remember someone in the past posted a code needed to get on peterson's, I can not get on that site again. I lost my old password and was trying to register again and it won't take the activation code. Does anyone know a working code? Thanks

The moderators decided to stop the code sharing. Kind of a bummerSad but I understand why they did it.

I was finally able to get a refund but had to go through paypal.com to put pressure on them for the refund. The administrator was quite kind after I filed a complaint with paypal.com. She explained that they had problems with their paypal.com account. The main problem is the product. They have a great marketing website just need more work on their actual product.

Thx for the info! I am scouring the net for additional study materials.

Whenever I see those type of sites I ignore them. With the yellow text boxes asking for your email address to send you a free course, or free newsletter.

I just assume that they are bogus, or comprised of a lot of information that I could find for free on the web anyways. Obviously I have fallen for a few...
Maybe I should not make assumptions...but I would rather not waste money!

I don't think you should pay money for anything other than textbooks (including reputable CLEP prep books like REA) or DVDs like Standard Deviants, and sometimes also practice questions at well-known sites like InstantCert and Peterson's. I know the thought of there being a one-stop shop for a complete outline of what exactly you should study is a seductive one, but think of it this way:

First, no one can afford to make a promise like that, and if they do, they're lying and it's a red flag to you to RUN.

Second, think of determining what exactly you should be studying as part of the studying experience -- because it is. You're taking the time to figure out for yourself what the key elements of your subject matter are, and then you use books and the Internet to find them. It's like a fun research project that you don't have to write a paper for! After you've gotten a few CLEPs under your belt, you develop a knack for homing in on key elements. Pay close attention to the College Board's official test outlines; they're there for a reason. Use reputable books, DVDs, and Web sites, and seek out ways to fill any gaps you sense in the material you're using. Smile
