Penn Foster warning info.
#1
Hi All,

I am signed up with both the Penn Foster Tech Math course and the English 100 course.

I signed up with the Math course back in January and I only have to complete the proctored exam (been waiting for about 2 weeks).

Last week I signed up with the English course (just started).

I just happen to call today and asked about when my proctor should recieve the exam and to my surprise was told that I would have to finish all of the English assignments before I would recieve the final Math exam (makes sense doesn't it). If I had been told about this policy I would have waited until I recieved the proctored exam for Math before I signed up for English. I did ask what sense it made to make someone wait (unless you started both at the same time maybe) for a Math exam until the English was finished, especially since almost all of the Math was done before I signed up with the English and the response was "sir that is our policy", (no explanation).

I called and got it taken care of (I hope) but everyone should be aware that this is Penn Foster's normal policy.

So if you start a course do not sign up for another one until you finished the first one.

This is not just a rant because I do enjoy the courses, just be aware of the policy.

Mike

Hey thanks for the advise. It's people like yourself that help others from making redundant mistakes or getting ensnared in pitfalls.

Just as an FYI you will have to pay the $20 proctor fee for each class if you take each seperatly.

It would be worth the extra $20 to me to not have to wait to finish the second class.

Noticed That You Had Been Approved For The English 100 Course At Penn Foster And Am Wondering If There Is A Proctored Exam Required For This Course. As You Can See From My Post Of 3/29/08, I Was Told Penn Foster Courses Are Not Accepted Because It Is Not A Regionally Accredited College. However, Thanks To Another Member, I Am Going To Try To Get Approval Through The E-mail Route As They Were Able To Get Approval--it Seems To Be A Matter Of One Advisor Approving The Course And Another Saying It Is Not Acceptable--luck Of The Draw I Guess. Thanks For The Warning On Signing Up For 2 Courses At Once!
