WGU - The Best Option for B.S. Cybersecurity - BSCSIA?
#1
Hello,

Between industry certifications and ACE credits, I will have 89 credits that are transferrable toward the WGU BSCSIA by early next year.

While I am nearly certain that I will enroll in WGU's BSCSIA program next year, I wanted to check to see if there are other, similar options that this forum recommends.

Transferability of certifications is what initially interested me in WGU, so I am curious if other programs accept certs for credit.

I haven't looked into the BSCSIA, but if you can transfer that many credits toward a WGU degree, it becomes a very compelling option. I think I transferred five certifications toward my BSCC, and I took another six while enrolled, which was great because I tend to do well with tests. You probably also have certifications that can be transferred for the MSCSIA, like CySA+, PenTest+, CASP+, and CISM. It used to be that you could transfer more than half the MSCSIA degree, but now it's effectively just under half for the max transfers.

Thanks for this response.

I haven't looked in to the MSCSIA, but it is something I will definitely consider once I earn a BS/BA. I do have a number of these certs. I'm also considering GAtech's OMSCy, as well as a few MBA programs.
