Yes that was me. At first TESC said "NO!" to VESI courses, I had to get a supervisor over the phone and explain to them they aren't original "continuing education" credits. That they are counted as graduate credits, it's just VESI calls it "continuing education units" and the supervisor called VESI to get a reconfirmation and they accepted it. So I'm pretty sure that the credits that perriquit found could possibly be negotiated into transfer as they did with my VESI courses. When I say negotiate I don't mean offer them money, lol. TESC is going to say "NO!" to anything that is new and alien-ish to them. VESI courses are education courses, yet TESC accepted mine into in my area of study.
I am very uncomfortable with testing out and so are a few of my fellow members on this forum that don't show themselves too often, lol. I showed my degree plan in messages for those who asked and are working on a degree without testing out. 80+ ACE credits and the remaining R.A credits (FHSU-Straighterline credit launder, VESI-St. Catherine, community college) to complete my degree wasn't too bad at all in the comfort of my own home. I feel like I'm bragging but I promise I am not, it's just a way for other members who don't feel comfortable of testing out and can venture into new sources of credit. Do I recommended it better vs CLEP/DSST? Not at all, as CLEP/DSST can transfer more and is similar to RA credit. But I always have a back up plan, when I plan on applying for graduate school, I am mostly going to go in person and show all my transcripts including my credits from Penn Foster/Straighterline/ACE and look em in the eye and say accept me!
Edit, also my degree plan once I upload it, it was all under $6500. Not bad, not bad at all.

This is great! You set a precedent!
Do you mind sharing how they are listed on your transcript and the section? I'd love to know (cuz I might need to grab 2 of these myself)

I've asked Excelsior if they will accept them - but haven't gotten a response yet.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun. Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior. And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

I have 4 VESI credits but haven't tried to do anything with them yet. I thought maybe I could find an online MEd that would transfer VESI in as electives but haven't done the legwork yet to say yes or no.
I realize that TESC will transfer them in as undergraduate credit, but my question is do they transfer in as graduate education credit and to which program might they apply? My goal is to find a 30 credit MEd and transfer in 12 VESI credits. Yeah I know thats probably not going to happen but it should be fun trying to find one.
Also, the learning I am doing can help me get a better understanding of educational theory and pedagogy that will help me complete the EdS at USF in Instructional Technology. I have also talked to USF about a PhD IT and they mentioned something about 6 credits of prereqs that I would need so maybe these can stand in for the prereqs.

I think if anyone would, it would be TESC or APUS. Those are interesting questions.
The ACT organization, has 4 courses that "could" fall inside the natural science BA at TESC as upper level. Thaaaaaat's interesting..... Of course, they could be edu free electives, but I'd like to find out.

So you can't use these courses for a master's through CSUMB? Do they transfer as graduate courses from CSUMB to other schools?

That's what I'm wondering. Does CSUMB actually transcribe these as graduate credit or graduate continuing education credit? If they are transcribed as continuing education, then TESC might not accept them. VESi courses are transcribed as graduate continuing education by some schools and actual graduate credit by others. People are able to transfer them to TESC from St. Catherine and Morningside because these schools will transcribe them as graduate credit for degree-granting programs.

I just don't see the utility of these courses if they cannot be transferred as graduate credit. A teacher needing credits for a pay raise would be better off working on a master's degree elsewhere than taking these courses, that is if they aren't transferrable. Now if they are that changes things dramatically and in that case I would be very interested.
