It's almost always going to be cheaper (and easier) to use ACE credits than to do UExcels.
Quick Excelsior pointers needed

I was planning to test out a few missing credits to get me to 113 (DSST/CLEP,UExcel), and, then, I do have to take 3 UExcel courses as that requirement changed (Info Literacy, Cornerstone, Capstone). Which ones are you referring to? Thanks.

Where are you based? Clep is not every where available.

okay! It's been a while since I posted here. You can immediately reduce costs at Excelsior by informing them that you want to enroll in a partnership program. (so of us old hands here recommend POAG associate membership at $25 per year) this reduces the cost by about $60 a credit I think ( do your research) The capstone has no exam equivalent. One thing you need to be aware of with Uexel exams is if you fail one it goes on your GPA! I have a nice F on my Excelsior GPA because of a rushed exam in Finance. They are generous on overseas credit. If you have an ECDL or ICDL they award credit for that too! I was able to challenge them on one economics course I took in Ireland that they didn't want to award me but I had the subject guide for the class available and they were willing to change their mind. The forum here over the past few years has moved in cycles on which schools are the best. I transferred in my credits recently including my foreign credits to TESU and they rejected a whole lot more than I exepected so I'm staying with Excelsior. Feel free to ask any questions
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing
