What does this mean? If you start a class near the end of a session, you FAIL? What if you misjudge how long a class will take you, and you are a few days late (into the next session)?
I'm not the expert in this forum, but from what I have read collectively, they won't let you join if it's too close to the end of the term; and if you are already in a class that is taking a little longer to complete, you can ask for an extension of that class.
There are no extensions in YourPace. The deadlines are the deadlines. You can't add a course once there are 10 days left in a session without permission from your academic advisor and it's rare that they will approve as Rough Drafts are due in 3 days at the 10 day mark.

Some UMPI YourPace students posted that they were able to extend a class with approval, due to being just shy of the deadline ... I'll see if I'm able to crosslink that discussion if I come across it again. Until then, @pluggingalong, please disregard what I wrote.
Oh and the yellow-highlighted PDF is not the send out anymore. It will look more like this - see attachment.

I've been an UMPI student. Twice. I had asked for an extension once and was told absolutely not. There are no extensions. I received 1 when the professor did not respond the Rough Draft during the final week of classes. He was not aware that he was teaching the course as the professor was changed in the middle of the session so he never received the email about my Rough Draft waiting for him. My grade was still submitted on time. There are no extensions on the Rough Drafts. You're not required to submit a Rough Draft. I have not seen students receive extensions unless the professor is the reason for it. It's very rare. Do not go into a class expecting to receive an extension. Cody will tell you over and over that the deadlines are the deadlines.
