Do all UMPI degrees req college algebra? I can't remember.

Algebra is the minimum, yes. Stats might work. Precalculus and Calculus definitely work. If math is not your strong suit, give Sophia Algebra a try. Most people find it not that difficult, at least compared to other Algebra courses.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Thanks Rachel, I asked that due to a shift I have been seeing among colleges where your degree path can determine which math course will fulfill the degree req.

What I have noticed among some schools ( could be a state thing) is that unless you are going into a STEM related field some schools are now only req college mathmatics.

TESU only requires "Liberal Arts Math" for many of its degrees. UMPI in-person apparently does the same. The UMPI site lists MAT-104 Quantitative Reasoning (another name for College Math, AFAIK) as being valid for the GEC requirements. But YourPace degrees require at least Algebra.

Lol, that is weird how that is. Maybe UMPI figures that most students will just transfer that course in anyway so no reason to change it.

I wonder what a yourpace algebra course is like?

I personally wouldn't find out. I'd take it on Sophia which is almost guaranteed to be much easier. I've taken College Algebra at both a college and on Sophia and Sophia's was by far easier. It didn't take 15 weeks either.

Is College Algebra required for the UMPI BABA Mgmt and Leadership concentration in the YourPace program? I am using Ashkir's degree plan as a template (attached). On this template, I see that SDC has a class that is called Business Math 110 so I am not sure if it is Algebra or just applied Math. I am not great at Math and pretty Math phobic. However, I did see from another post that it looks like BUS110 looks it has 82 quizzes which seems like a lot. I am wondering if I would be better off just taking College Algebra at Sophia or UMPI?

Thanks

The BABA programs require MAT140 Mathematics for Business. It's a VERY easy math course. Easier than College Algebra. I would take MAT140 at UMPI. I wouldn't take it on Study. It's not offered by Sophia.

I looked at the MAT140 course catalog and it looks like basic business math with some some basic Algebra put into the class. However, it does look like less Algebra than a regular College Algebra course...agreed? I am assuming that is the only Math class I need to take or do I also need to take Business Statistics or is this incorporated into the MAT140 class, I also see the that BUS440 Business Analytics is a required UL course. Does this incorporate stats into the class?

Thanks,

On my degree plan for the BABA Mgmt Leadership concentration, I have BUS110 which I believe is Business Math from SDC? Is this equivalent to MAT140 at UMPI?

Thanks,
