UMPI YourPace Computer Science

> they're expecting about 5 people a year to take it

I don't understand this
surely they've heard of WGU and realize how many students it has
how can they possibly think only 5 students a year will take this

UMPI is a really tiny school in a really tiny town. I'm guessing that 5 in the first year is the bare minimum they need to judge the program as a success.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Rachel is 100% correct here. UMPI is a tiny community-based school. They have great RA labels everyone wants, however, they're super tiny! The entire YourPAce program basically has only 2 points of contact for everyone. The amount of people from DegreeForum joining it is making it even more successful. The more we use it, the more they may add! Big Grin

To add to that, go look up Presque Isle, Maine on Google Maps. They have one McDonald's, one Walgreen's, and one Walmart. A moderately fit individual could probably run a lap around the whole town in maybe 2-3 hours. Given the size of the town and the size of the school, it is AMAZING that they are able to offer what they do!

I plan on visiting there in person next year for commencement after COVID!! It’s so small :3. I grew up in cities n

UMPI is doing fantastic for a small school! A good portion of their students are Canadians ! Probably explains why they’re so internationally friendly by being on the border to another country.

I read the actual notice and it said they expect 5 people a year for the on campus and it doesn't include yourpace.
