Hi GUYS,
I may have asked a question similar to this,
but I am still confused.
If someone gets a Pell Grant for $7k+,
Does that mean for example,
that if you take 12 credits
at UMPI in 1 session for $1800,
mean you will get the full
Pell Grant?
Can you explain this a little?
Thank you!!!!

Yes, just transfer in the 90+ credits into UMPI degree using ACE sources such as Coursera, Sophia.org, Study.com, etc, take the 3 sessions for $1800 each within the 12 months. To max the credits, you should take all 30 credits,10 classes you need, and within the list, take the 4 classes that can transfer from the Bachelors to the MAOL (2 of these will go into the MSB with a communications concentration.

You will need to pass 12 credits in a semester not a term. This means that you can complete 6 credits in Fall 1 and 6 credits in Fall 2. Or 9 and 3. It just needs to be a minimum of 12 credits during the semester. The amount of the Pell Grant is income based.

I See,
So,
if I get 12 credits completed in 1 term,
within 1 semester,
I will qualify for the full PG awarded.
That is good!
Hypothetically,
If my session costs $1800, and I complete the 12 credits,
and my PG award is $7,000,
do I receive the $5,200 overage for books, room and board, etc?
Sorry to beat on this,
I am just trying to figure out how this works in the real world.
Believe it or not, I have had trouble getting FA info from the college departments

UMPI has the final say, if you're doing the YourPace, there are no board, books, etc. They will take it into account though, I would just shoot an email off to your academic advisor and success coach indicating you want to get the best bang for the buck. You want to do at least 3 sessions with them and get the 4 classes that can go towards the MAOL.
Tell them you're doing the BABA PM & IS, taking the classes that can go towards the MAOL (or MSB Communications Concentration), they'll help you allocate the amount properly and tell you what the final numbers are. So, apply, transfer everything, wait for evaluation and how they will set your financial aid. You then need to agree to it before you're going to be put into that aid.
Here is the UMPI WIKI with the 4 classes that go towards the MAOL, your BABA PM & IS should already have two or three of these classes already. Your first trifecta of cost, ease, speed - Second trifecta, get credits for your Google Professional certs, finish the degree requirements, get experience along the way, Link: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Un...esque_Isle

No. The approximately $7000 number, currently $7395, is the maximum Pell Grant award per full-time academic year. That is divided into at least two semesters, so your maximum for one semester will be about $3697. I'm not sure of every detail of how this applies to an eight-week YourPace session which is half a term.

In my experience, UMPI spread the amount of my Pell Grant over the 2 terms of the semester. The full award is for the full year. I did complete 12 credits or more in a term so in the end I received the full grant during that term without completing the second term in the semester but this was a few years ago and a lot has changed with financial aid since January.

I appreciate your experience.
According to what I have read,
to get the full Pell Grant for the semester ,
one must complete 12 credits.
I didn't see any fine print about how long it took to achieve those credits.

So, if someone completes 12 credits at UMPI in one session,
within one semester for $1800,
and his Pell grant is $2800 per semester,
Does this person get the $1000 left over for living expenses etc??
This is the question that Gets me confused???
THANX!!!

Whichever institution you attend, they'll decided what can be used and will follow up with you if you do use Fin Aid...
