Half of your degree is your concentration. Your concentration should be something that is going to help you advance your career if it's going to be half of the course work you take. Also you don't need a degree to start a Business. I owned a plumbing company that brought in millions of dollars a year without a degree. Typically Entrepreneurship degrees or concentrations are for people who want to get into or interact with VC companies and that's best done at a top 20 college.
That's your take. That may not be U of M's position. Without small businesses, there's pretty much nothing in Maine. Maine is a very rural state. UMPI's going to focus on Mainers and not the rest of the world as they should. They need to fulfill local and state needs long before anyone else. YourPace isn't just an UMPI program anymore. It now has professors from other U of M campuses. The Chancellor has talked about making this program open to all of the U of M universities but maintaining at UMPI. Could be what's happening now.
We have seen several small business owners on here get their degree after they've been in business for many years. That doesn't mean they're interested in VC. Plenty of people interested in launching their own business or working to support small businesses aren't interested in teh VC aspect. Everyone isn't looking to create the next Etsy or whatever flavor of the month is happening now.

Ah! I was really hoping the BI concentration would’ve been one of the first ones they offered. Does anyone know when it might release? Or who I can ask at umpi that might know?
I’d like to do my masters this year and was waiting for fall to do the msb. Now I’m not sure about waiting next year as I have no idea when BI will be available. It can be summer or even fall of 2026!

UMPI has not announced official dates for any parts of the upcoming MSBM.

Has anyone inquired about a waitlist for the MSB program ? It would be interesting to see if it started sooner as result of demand.
Completed:
MAOL (3.9) UMPI
BBA, MIS minor, cum laude (3.5) UMPI
AAS BOG Pierpont

A waitlist wouldn't really do anything. They can't start the program until it's finalized with their accreditation board, course development is complete, and they have the faculty to staff the courses. Students can demand whatever they want but that doesn't mean it will change anything. Look at the CS program. It's been rumored to be coming to YourPace since at least 2021. It was a rumor before the on campus program launched so it was rather entertaining to see the rumors.

Nothing has appeared online yet. The program opens in the fall if their plan goes through.

There are
tentative descriptions of courses and program outcomes on pages 19 to 48 of the pdf pagination of
this internal planning document, from the original post in this thread.
