Isn't the BLS 18 credits in the minor and 24 UL credits, while the BAS is only 12 credits in minor and 18 UL credits?

I don't know how the credits are broken down for the BAS. They're both 120 credits total. LL and UL courses are pretty much the same amount of work at UMPI.

That's true. Any given LL or UL course at UMPI can range from easy to very difficult. Less restrictions on credits for the BAS provide a bit more flexibility on which courses you can choose than the BLS, but that's really the only advantage.

You can transfer in UL courses. Sophia has a few. There's a couple at UMPI that you can finish in a few days. The BAS isn't easier or faster or cheaper. It's all still 120 credits.

I guess I'm confused about how it actually works. Can you transfer all the specific degree requirements, including UL credits, and only take 10 electives at UMPI?

You need to complete some of the BLS ULs at UMPI. The ULs in the BLS are general electives. You have to take a minimum of 10 courses at UMPI.

I know my brother maxed out the number of ULs he could take outside of UMPI. He has all the Sophia ULs, some Study ones and all of the Coursera/TADA ones that counted as ULs. So we are awaiting to see how everything will be evaluated because he has a ton of credits.

That makes sense to me. My understanding is that you need to take a certain number of UL courses at UMPI, and the number of UL courses is less for the BAS than it is for the BLS.

When I did my BLS, it was 13 UL credits had to be completed at UMPI. They haven't been very strict on this recently.

Maybe the BLS UL requirement is lower? I think it was 18 for me.
