Thanks, Kyle - I also forgot BUS 489 on my list. So, it's 14 minus whatever I can do this week on Study.com or through other methods. I will do all five of the Study.com ones if I can, but I doubt I can. I'm guesstimating I can do those two.
Calculus, even Sophia calculus, may not be better for me than MAT 140. My running joke is that the most advanced math class I have taken was called "Division: Multiplication's Tricky Pal." In reality, it was Mathematics of Finance, and before that, high school algebra.
@bjcheung, the speed definitely varies per person and situation, and it would be a mistake for anybody to list timing as a general rule that applies to everybody! Thanks for the reminder.

Not a problem at all and totally understand about the Calculus. My wife happened to be a math major and really helped me out with the concepts, I am fortunate in that regard. I just wanted to make sure you knew it was an option! I'm going to send you a PM so we don't gunk this thread up

Name: BUS 200 Intermediate Business Computing
Subject: Business
Semester/Term: Summer 2024
Instructor: Bell
Long or Short?: Short
Number of Outcomes: 3?
Number of Milestone Activities: 3
Type of Milestone Activities: Word document, excel spreadsheet, and powerpoint presentation
Type of Final Assessment: combination of these three things with some additional embellishments
Notes & Overall Thoughts: Overall and easy course, but a little tedious. The information is solid, but the approaches themselves can be outdated. Word isnt used like the milestones/final requires in the real world.
Name: BUS 244 - Management Information System
Subject: Business
Semester/Term: Summer 2024
Instructor: Siddiqui
Long or Short?: Short/Medium
Number of Outcomes: 3
Number of Milestone Activities: 3
Type of Milestone Activities: 1000-2000 word essays on topics relating to management systems in the tech space
Type of Final Assessment: Longer essay answering some specific questions on an article and then some more general questions relating to how you would address the issues noted in the article
Notes & Overall Thoughts: While not a hard class, the information can be as in-depth as you want it to be. Overall fun. Siddiqui was very nice, with some canned responses and then additional personalized feedback. I had to email him once and then the advisor about a weird delay on my draft and final, but after the emails, he responded with the grade. About a week later, he came back with some very good feedback that he took a little while to write. I think he may have been busy before, but still.
Name: BUS 359 - IT Project Management
Subject: Business
Semester/Term: Summer 2024
Instructor: Furst
Long or Short?: short/Medium
Number of Outcomes: 6
Number of Milestone Activities: 5
Type of Milestone Activities: Short reflection word documents and sometimes longer essay style writing
Type of Final Assessment: combination of prior milestones and then a project plan with multiple parts
Notes & Overall Thoughts: Once again, an interesting class. It takes what you are learning and does a rather good job at having you apply it to a IT Project. The professor, director of IT at ums/umpi, feels not only involved, but knowledgeable about things you are learning and provides internal templates that they use in the facility for you to use.

Long or Short?: Long
Number of Outcomes: 7 (if including intro and final then 9)

Type of Final Assessment: 12-15 pages (whatever spaced) marketing plan about a project, i.e the same as the milestones
Notes & Overall Thoughts: The topic is a common sense business one with enough sources from the class', no need for outside sources. The class is an easy one to get an A. Not a fast class thought. I've had a about 8-6hrs a day and I am almost midway in 3 days in....

Hi everyone, I have a question. I matriculated into UMPI YourPace this fall, and my credit report and degree plan were just posted a few days ago. For my degree, I need courses like BUS 240, BUS 343, BUS 469, and BUS 440, but the next available term for them is spring. I’ve already transferred 90 credits from Sophia and another college, and I still need at least 10 courses. Does this mean it’s not possible to graduate in one term? Will these courses be available sooner, or is fall just a bad time for this? I haven’t heard from my advisor yet since the report is new, but I’m wondering if anyone has any insight. Thank you!

YourPace courses are offered every term. Sounds like you're looking at MaineStreet. The class schedule on there is for on campus students. YourPace courses aren't in MaineStreet. You can't register yourself. Your academic success coach will work with you on you first 2 classes. Then Once the term begins you'll receive an email to your maine.edu account with instructions on how to add classes.

Name: ENG 151: Introduction to Literature
Subject: English
Semester/Term: Fall Term 1 ~ 2024
Instructor: Dr. Lea Allen
Long or Short?: Long (I spent 28 hours on this class and was halfway through before I decided to withdraw.)
Number of Milestone Activities: 3
Type of Milestone Activities: Essays (IIRC, varied from 800-1400 words)
Type of Final Assessment: 10 page essay.
Notes & Overall Thoughts: Most of the reading material is included in the course. For the final, a full-length book needs to be read (2 options are given), so this obviously takes time. Allen took a long time grading milestones (3+ days, up to a week.) I received very little feedback, but what I did receive was encouraging. I didn’t feel like the actual course content taught me about analyzing literature - I ended up needing to do a lot of outside YouTube and such to feel like I could competently complete the work. As stated above, I decided to withdraw because I really hated analyzing lit and the class was taking me so long. I tend to overthink my papers, though.
Name: EDU 152: Introduction to Education
Subject: Education
Semester/Term: Fall Term 1 ~ 2024
Instructor: Shannon Sleeper
Long or Short?: Long (36+ hours)
Number of Milestone Activities: 6
Type of Milestone Activities: 1-2 page essays, a couple of forms to fill out, videos.
Type of Final Assessment: 15-minute mock interview video. Log of 20 observation hours.
Notes & Overall Thoughts: For those who don’t have an in-person class(es) to observe, there are video options, which are really helpful.
Current Goal:
UMPI: B.L.S. with minor in Educational Studies
I'm 73% through my degree!
Earned: 88 credits total
RA: 3 credits
Sophia: 76 credits
Study.com: 6 credits
UMPI: 3 credits
