I never shared how I completed my first degree at UMPI. I graduated in March 2021 with the BLS with Management Information Systems, Project Management, and Management Minors. Yes, 3 minors.

I transferred 192 credits to UMPI. Only 90 were used towards my degree, but all of my courses with grades from every school and ACE source are on there. It’s nice to see it all in one place. I completed 48 credits in 3 sessions.

One thing that was really nice about UMPI was that none of my credits were too old. I ran into that problem at Colorado State University - Global and Excelsior College

Nice to have everything on a single transcript!

Just an FYI for others who might want to know, EC will take all of your old credits for the GE and Free Elective, and a bunch of majors have no time limits on credit.  So for a BLS or BPS degree, there is no time limit, they'll take everything old (vs. the BSB which is limited to something like 5 years for the Business Core).

 Can you explain the 24 UL credit requirement ? I am laying out a plan for my SIL ( as noted in another post) She has met the GEC and has extra credits toward the electives. She wants the Project Management minor, but that doesn't require enough credits that are UL to meet the 24 credits. In another thread someone said the UL had to be OUTSIDE of the minor but I can't find a degree plan that shows any were taken outside the minor. This makes no sense numbers wise if some folks have only taken 10 classes through UMPI with those typically being minor related. In counting up your UL's, it comes to 8 courses but one was taken through another school so only 21 were taken at UMPI. Are there less UL's required to be taken at UMPI for this degree plan ?

I'm not in UMPI, but for what people have expose in their post you have to take the classes related to the minor and specially the UL at UMPI. Somebody will add the classes you need to arrive to the 30 credits. If you have all the credits and still space for a couple of classes maybe you could ask something you have interest in it?

Are you interested to plan for 2 minors? Maybe is there a combination you can benefit from.

This info is on the degree audit you get once you're enrolled. The advisor completes the degree audit and emails it to you. The minor doesn't apply to the 24 UL credits.

Good night, now I'm sufficiently confused. I grasp that for the GEC you only need a certain amount of credits-some count twice to meet the goal of 40. Then it requires 62 of electives. Then the minor along with 24 CR hrs OUTSIDE of the minor/major UL's. That adds up to way more than 120 credit requirement for a BLS/Project management. 
So, how exactly is anyone doing this and only taking 10-15 courses to finish the degree if the most of the UL's have to be taken at UMPI ? Do the 24 cr hr UL's come in as electives ? Is there a number that they limit you to for what can be transferred in as far as UL's ? In all the degree plans I've seen, no one is really listing the extra UL's, or I'm just breezing by them and assuming they're part of the minor......back to the drawing board, ugh.

The 24 UL courses are part of the general electives. You only need 120 to graduate. If you have to take 12 UL credits at UMPI for the 24 UL credits then that's 4 classes. 

Most people on here are doing one of the BA's. The BA's don't have this requirement because you complete so many UL courses in the major and concentration.

It's the degrees with just the minors, such as a BAS or BLS with a minor, each minor is less than 30 credits, that is where you need to complete "extra" courses to make up for the missing UL, the remaining UL can go into your gen ed or electives.

This is what I thought: 30 credits at UMPI with at least 24 being UL. So, I figured if there weren't 24 in the minor, they would be placed in the electives area as UL . That's easy enough to understand. 
 So , I'll update courses and see if I have info to post an update. Then perhaps better info will be gathered. A BLS in Project Management was the goal. My SIL will now have 88 credits I believe. She meets the GEC and is finishing Am.Gov, just finished Spanish at IC. All the rest are RA credits.
