UExcel Credit by Exam Program - Free exams

Have you thought about using a inter-library loan system to try to get the textbooks? Just a thought

sounds time consuming. I wish my time weren't at such a premium, and I have a hard time getting library stuff back on time, so I buy used and cheap when I can

I'm looking forward to studying political science. I'm glad uexcel is offering this choice. I think it's refreshing to get some new subjects in with the ol' clep and dssts. more of a mix.

LOL, Ikwym! I just call my ILL dept at the local library, they call me when it comes in... but I have paid lots of overdue fines over the years :o

I gauged my level of studying by the fact sheet as well and I will warn you, do not take this exam for granted. There were a lot of "gotcha" questions on my version of the test. I've rescheduled to take the other version.

My advice?
With a little effort and study you can pass this exam but make sure you review accordingly.

You dont even know your own score yet and you tell people they will pass !! hilarious

First take the test, wait a few month (December, January who knows..) to get your score and if you pass then you worry about that.

I was very discouraged when I saw this on the Uexcel site :


" The beta period will run from January 31, 2009,
until we have received enough data to determine final
scores on the tests. "


I realize we have been given a chance to earn free credits but when I signed up and took (both versions) of this poli-sci it was under the assumption I would already have received my scores by now.


At this rate who knows when these beta exams will be scored.

I know this is discouraging for most, but lets not forget that this testing IS for the exam providers to get sufficient data. The reason they are providing this free service in the first place is to get enough data. If they have not done so by now it is obviously in their interest to postpone the date till they have thus achieved their goal.

Sorry to sound "Ms all positive taking THEIR side", but just hang in there.
I know it sucks for those who are waiting on these results just for graduation or any such reason. For many of us though, it does not matter whether the results are posted in Jan or March. I just hope it is not all the way till the end of next year:eek:

I understand your points. But I really think stretching this out over 6 months is really unfair for a number of reasons.

Such as those who took both versions in August ( like I did) do not have as much of an advantage in passing as those who are taking it now. We had such a short amount of time to prepare compared to those taking it now.


I took both version in August because I thought it was my only chance to take them due to the original deadline.

Then it kept getting stretched out further and as more people take these beta exams , more feedback gets posted which means those taking them now have an unfair advantage over those who took them originally. Which I believe ends up skewing the results.

I see why you are frusterated. On the other hand, I don't know if it does skew the results to have people studying beforehand. In the future all students who take the exam will have time to prepare. From that perspective, any early testing where people didn't prepare will be the ones skewing the results. hmmmm.
