Three Years + 8 Months = ???

Brian....it's Marshall. I have some terrible news for you. I hate to say this to you because of your tremendous success, but you are not the man you think you are...........you're a mutant!!!!!!!!!!!!!(smile)....3 college degrees in less than the time it takes a traditional undergrad to finish a degree!!!! That's nuts and that's not human!!!!....Teach me to be a jedi like you Shoto!!!!!!!!!!!

All jokes aside. You have been extremely helpful to me since I've joined IC. I, along with many others thank you for your continued support and encouragement. I hope that you stay on this forum and continue to be the backbone that you are. It's stories like this that keep you going and remind us of what we come here to do. Also...I want you to stay for selfish reasons....I might need you to talk me down from a ledge pretty soon when I start studying for my Precalc CLEP!!!!

I can hear you now, "Come on Marshall, it's ok...gimme your hand!!!!!!"

Do what you do Brian. And do it until you can't do it anymore.

P.S: I agree with JEC on that....I believe you'll be chasing another degree in less than 6 months...you're a degree-a-holic!!!!!!!!

From a loyal degree seeker,

Marshall

Big Congratulations....
You are the perfect role model for this forum and an excellent advisor for all of us. Thank you for all you've done. Preaching by example is something you don't see that often and that's exactly what you do.
Take a well deserved break and, just like someone said before, I'm sure that you'll be going for just one more.... or maybe two...

3 degrees in under 4 years?
Slacker! hilarious

No seriously, I'm very impressed- you set a great example, especially when you decided to get your associates after your masters- you don't see that too often! I remember when you were trying to decide- it seems like yesterday! Great job and thanks for all the support you provide around here.

I would start with "Freakonomics." I think that would be a great transition book for you because it's great fun to read AND it has a little academia in there so you won't have to quit cold turkey. I promise you won't be able to put it down. In fact, it's spawned a revolution--Freakonomists have their own web site and everything.

But, above all else, congratulations. This message board just wouldn't be the same without Brian and his many-colored signature!

Thanks all for your kind words, cyber-handshakes, and demi-god titles; "Darth-Shoto" would be nice! Big Grin

As for celebrating – yes I will be doing so in an indirect sense in just a few days. To begin, on May 1st my Bride of 25 years will be reaffirming our vows and then sailing off on a Carnival Cruise to Cozumel to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. To top it off when the cruise is over I will then surprise her even further with yet another 25th anniversary trip to Honolulu, Hawaii that will take place in July – Aloha! Cool

Perhaps I can celebrate in a direct sense with the realization that on either trip I will not be consumed with the “I Must Study Now” syndrome that has consumed me for the last 3+ years; just what will I read at the pool or beach?! Rolleyes
