From the other forum, welcome Kairos: https://kairos.edu/
They have accreditation by both the HLC (regional) and ATS (national). https://kairos.edu/about/accreditation/
They offer one Bachelor's degree: Bachelor of Arts in Christian Thought and Practice. Cost is $300/mo.
They currently offer 3 Master's degrees and 2 Doctoral degrees. The Master's degrees are $300 or $400/mo. The Doctoral degrees are $300 or $600/mo.
For those who aren't interested in a theological degree, Kairos could still potentially be a cheap source of credits for TESU or COSC. If you're able to complete more than 2 per month, it'd be cheaper than Olivet Nazarene. The following credits should transfer easily to any degree:
GE 110 English Composition (3)
GE 200 Exploring World Literature (3)
GE 205 Exploring Philosophy (3)
GE 210 Exploring Psychology (3)
GE 215 Exploring Sociology (3)
There are other, more theological-based, courses that would certainly work as electives. But, if you're doing a 16-credit term at TESU, all you'd need is the above 5!
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

This is definitely an interesting program. From what I see on their site, it seems that there is an application process that would include sharing your involvement in your church.

It's definitely not going to be for everyone, but it does seem like it could be a great choice for some people.

Rachel83AZ is correct, this potentially would be an amazing deal for those who are looking at COSC or TESU RA requirements, you can complete these 5 mentioned instead of TECEPS, UEXCELS or those TEL Learning/ONU courses. If you can do all 5 in that term for $300, it's probably the cheapest RA credits that you can get towards your degree RA requirements.

I think it looks awesome, but I couldn't find anything that said specifically that the degree was CBE, just that it was $300 a month. That implies it's CBE, but I couldn't find anything on the class set-up as such. Weird. I mean is it finish a class as fast as you like and move on to the next one? Did anyone find any information on the site? I may have just missed it.

Someone on the other forum took the plunge for one of the Master's degrees and reported back about what they've found out so far (they just started):
Quote:So I enrolled in Kairos’ Master of Counseling program. I love how this program is set up. It’s a true subscription model. For $400 a month, you can take as many courses as you can muster.
Quote:What I also enjoy is that you can take a course and if you’re finished you can begin another course anytime within the term (or start as many as you like simultaneously—the choice is yours but you have to complete each course by the end of the term). Terms consist of three month duration.
So, it's not like WGU or PUG where you have to wait for some advisor to unlock classes for you. You just go.

You have to get a letter of reference from your current pastor. That's where I'd be stuck, because I'm between churches. They do say that you can call them for alternate sources if you're having trouble finding one of your references.

The enrolled student in the sister forum said the pastoral reference was only needed for the theology program, so for my purposes it might be fine
