TESU flat-rate tuition now $4,299?
#1
Question
I noticed the flat-rate tuition went from $4778 to $4,299.

The residency waiver went from $3288 to $3,354.

That's great, students now get to save about $500 ($479) to be exact on the flat rate tuition! Any savings would do, saving close to $500 is a great deal, that's 10% off for out of state students...

Am I crazy or did it used to be 16 credits to avoid the residency waiver?

Yes and with the change of only 15 credits now. It is making more and more sense to do 15 credits vs the waiver fee. Especially if you get financial aid like Pell Grant, scholarships or tuition reimbursement it could be far cheaper.

15 cr in one term: $4300

6 cr + waiver: $6624 (I think if I did the math right)

And remember the waiver is not eligible for most aid. and only 6 cr won't go far with pell grant money, etc.

I think TESU is trying to get more people to do courses with them and aovud the waiver.

It'll be perfect to max out the semester credit of 12 to get the optimal financial aid (for those who are eligible for the max). Anything under 12 credits would be usable as well, but you would only get a partial amount, example: 9 credits (3/4ths the max), 6 credits (half of the max) you can get for financial aid.

Rigght but I also got outside schoarlships. Like I had two that required full time. A lot of outside schoarlships do that. Local ones, professional assoications, non profits, etc.

sort of. I'm VERY SLOWLY working on it. Like super slow, its not a priority in my life at all. I've earned 3 cr in the last few months slow. I think I've settled on Pysch/Comp Sci BA and one of the business certificates but I have the basically entire AOS to do for comp sci and half of Pysch (cert is done besides one class). It's more of a passion project it could take me a year or more (although it would be cool to work in a pysch or comp sci related job someday and many friends think I'd be good at comp sci jobs). I work full time and don't really need the degree at this moment. When it gets close I'll decide what I'm doing as far as 15 cr vs wavier but I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm currently enrolled at TESU with a TECEP and have like eight more months on that.
