TESU/Study.com tuition discount going away July 1, 2020

Only per credit. Flat rate has no study.com discount.

You have to be enrolled, and under the affiliate discount by June 30 - so if you've completed any Study.com courses, send in your transcript (it's free, and must come directly from Study.com to TESU), and then call and make sure that you have it on your account.  I would do both immediately.

I'm enrolled and I put in the Study.com discount. I guess I need to actually complete a course there while trying to juggle all the other things that MUST BE DONE IMMEDIATELY. Fun times.

According to Merlin in the thread below, it could take 4-6 weeks from completing an SDC course and it posting to your transcript, at which point they would add the discount, that being the case, the deal is pretty well donezo already unless one gets lucky.

Again, if anyone knows, if TESU will apply the discount to your account after you send in an SDC transcript if you didn't use the "SDC partnership discount" when you applied to the school. I messed that up, and I guess I'll be paying for it. How much are we talking anyway?.....This gives me an excuse to have a little pity party for myself.

Well, there's always an upper-bound and a worst case scenario.

I started taking SDC courses on 4/23 and had five finished, graded, and evaluated at TESU by today, 5/29. It's definitely possible!

The rough expectation at SDC is that you'll get your grade back within 7 days after submitting all course assignments and taking the final. When I needed courses expedited, I prodded Study.com by support, but I don't think it actually got them to work any faster.

As for the discount, it's completely possible to add after you've already started an application. You can actually change your tuition plan at any time, if you qualify. I started out with a CPAPP corporate plan, switched to the Study.com plan, and then later removed both so I could get flat-rate tuition. Just email advising after you get your first SDC course evaluated and ask them to switch you over to the Study.com tuition plan.

This is such a bummer, I enrolled at TESU last week and the study.com discount was one of the main reason I chose them over Excelsior.

Tuition Rate Change
Effective July 1, 2020, new students will no longer be accepted into the Study.com partnership with the tuition reduction benefit. All Study.com students who apply by June 30, 2020, will continue to receive the partnership's tuition reduction, providing their student accounts remain current as per University policies.

I’m almost 99.9% sure that we put study.com discount in the application for him and yet I don’t see “corporate choice” when attempting to register for a TESU course.

You only need 1 Study.com course, right?

I think he can knock out a really easy course (he’s a senior engineer so Intro to programming will be a literal joke for him lol) and hopefully that also has a placement test for all the quizzes and get it done and approved by study.com fast...and then boom request that transcript way before the deadline. Worry about the other course credit to complete before the study.com subscription expires at the end of June.

So apply to Excelsior instead.

Thanks to this forum, I applied with the Study.com discount and enrolled earlier this month for the June 1 term!

That is my fear with all these changes because of covid, part of me wants to complete the associate and graduate. A lot of students here discourage that, but as someone that only now was able to concentrate on college studies again, after a very long hiatus, it makes sense to feel a sense of urgency and graduate.

What is the difference of the Instate tuition vs the SDC discount? Or would you benefit from both?
