TESU :: Psychology Testing Resource Guidance
#11
OakLakeNC Wrote:UExcel exams might be worth considering for upper level credits. They are usually $99-$145. They have Psychology of Adulthood and Aging, Research Methods in Psychology, Soical Psychology, Bioethics, etc... I noticed the Abnormal Psy. exam is $345. You could find a class cheaper than that. They have lower level exams, but I would consider Straightliner or Study.com first. At least with those you can factor in quiz scores.

There are UL psych options available for cheaper elsewhere, and you don't have to go to a testing center to do them. No real need to do UExcel, imo. But everyone has their own preferences.

I started making a spreadsheet for you but its proving a bit difficult because there are so many options for electives. My advice would be to tackle a bunch of 6credit+ CLEP exams. For 80$ plus a sitting fee and 6 credits a piece they are no brainers if you can handle that type of format. 5 6credits CLEPs = a year of school so you should at least hit that many. I'd say the English Comp, Analyzing and Interp Lit, English Lit, American Lit, Natural Science to start.

6cr CLEP's may be one of the cheaper options, but they are not usually considered the easiest. English Comp yes, A&I Lit yes, but I personally could never pass English or American Lit, or Nat Sci. Plus, I don't have close convenient access to a testing center.

Much easier for someone to figure out their own electives, and also to figure out how they want to do their credits (SL, Saylor, Study.com, CLEP, DSST), and then ask for more guidance for AOS courses.
