Just received word from a few "homeschooling" families that TAMUC decided to follow suit with UMHB University of Mary Hardin–Baylor, they will no longer accept ACE credits into their program! Ouch for those with many transfer credits from ACE providers... I think they will continue to accept CLEP, Dual Credit, etc, just the ACE credits will be gone! I'll provide an update once I get more details on this...

That's not good. Guess I'll be calling them Monday. Finishing two more classes on Sophia then the plan was to transfer over to TAMUC. Hopefully there is a grace period and I can get in next week. If not, guess I'm looking at other programs.

Wow that is crazy because all of my credits coming into the program were Sophia or Study - wonder what would make a college make that decision.

Is this knowledge gained by applying and the credits not being accepted, or was this over the phone with an advisor? Was the student(s) looking at the TAMUC BAAS Organizational Leadership or other program?

Just want to say that a college may not accept ACE into the entire school and still accept it in a particular program, like CBE. I know of several schools that are like this.
I wouldn't panic, and there are plenty of other options if this doesn't work out. But, I think the moral of the story is that when you decide on a school, you need to enroll as quickly as possible and transfer in any credits you already have. There is no sense waiting.

Good point. Isn't UMPI like this as well? hopefully this is the case here. but if not, dfrecore is right -- plenty of other options to pivot to.

UMPI accepts ACE credit on campus as well as in YourPace.
