Another course my son has taken in the Summer II term
Course: ORGL 3311 Foundations of Organizational Leadership
Instructor: Lee H DeBoer
Course content: Posted articles, chapters of books, videos, and other links are posted to read.
Exam format: 6 pretest and 6 posttest (75% of grade total - each post test is 12.5% of grade). Multiple choice answers with 2 short answer essay questions on each posttest.
Exam content vs course content/practice exams: The information from the pre and posttests can be found in the linked reading from the course.
Final exam or project: 1 final project (12.5% of grade) & 1 video project (12.5% of grade). Leadership style.
Time taken on course: 7 days.
Familiarity with subject before course: little knowledge

Professor was quick to grade and respond.
Just a question to clarify. You list each item as 12.5% of the course grade. While 100% divided by 8 assignments does equal 12.5%. Each assignment needs to be passed by at least 80% still, correct? I think that is the most important part here, unless something has changed.

Correct - all post tests and all projects have to be passed with at least an 80%.

Course: ORGL 3321 Organizational Communication
Instructor: Jonathan Jordan

Exam format: 3 pretests and 3 posttests (each posttest is 16.67% of grade). Multiple choice answers with 2 short answer essay questions on each posttest. Must score a minimum of 80% on each post test

Final exam or project: 3 final projects (each project is 16.67% of grade) Project 1 Situation Analysis & Strategy Plan, Project 2 Internal Communication Package, Project 3 External Communication Materials. Must score a minimum of 80% on each project.

Pitfalls, high points, things others should know: straightforward course no surprises. Pay close attention to the rubric and instructions. Professor was fair, however, he was specific regarding how the project papers are to be formatted and in what person they should be written.
1-10 Difficulty level: 3
Tip: Make use of the practice exams, many of the same questions will appear on the posttest.
Professor states in the syllabus for this course that he grades on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after 4pm CST. Be aware of this if you are facing a deadline and planning to accelerate into another course during the term

Additional comments: This professor was good except that she was slow to grade and did not respond to an email. Typical response time from professors for emails is within 24 hours. She did not reply to an email. The submitted project was not graded until 4 days later instead of within 72 hours which prevented another course being assigned before a weekend leaving unnecessary down time.
