Hiya everyone! Haven't updated for a while but I'm onto the new session woohoo! I completed 10 in the Second Spring session with 100% in all but two classes! I initially thought I only had 14 classes in total to complete with UMPI but it seems it'll be closer to 21. I'm hoping to knock out the remaining 11 this session but with work it may bleed into the next session. I'm also seriously considering switching from a BLS in EDU to a BBA in History but I'm not sure what the process for that is like, anyone done anything similar? Oh and was there ever any clarification on whether any Coursera courses would be accepted in place of BIO 105? Good luck to everyone for this session!

Coursera wasn't approved unfortunately, as their bio doesn't award ACE. Long, long, long ago Coursera did seek ACE accrediation but they let them expire. You got this!!!! If you want to avoid BIO 105, just get approval to take the SDC course. It's a bit much for a single course but, based on ashkir's experiences, it could save you from having to pay for another term.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA Completed: Pierpont - AAS BOG Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses) ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210 (05-11-2021, 09:21 AM)rachel83az Wrote: If you want to avoid BIO 105, just get approval to take the SDC course. If I took BIO 105 at Study.com I probably could've finished everything in one term, and would've sped up the remainder of my classes to be in term 1 instead of term 2, but I did two terms because I didn't have enough time to finish bio 105. I would've never been able to finish it mid-way through my term, it took a month to complete it to begin with. Since I had to do two terms, I took a break towards the end of term 1 and pushed classes to term 2. Dr. Ashkir DHA, MBA, MAOL, PMP, GARA

Sounds about right, I'm thinking if I can muster the last 10 courses within this session that it probably is worth it to spend the 250 on SDC. I just wish it wasn't proctored as I haven't done any proctored exams yet. How was the SDC bio course? I'm not very versed in Bio at all to be honest lol? I wish they would amend the BIO 105, especially with the amount of new students at UMPI Your Pace, the requirement would hopefully be more accessible. It seems inefficient to have such a grueling and taxing GEC requirement when everything else is manageable.

I would highly recommend messaging Cody and Jessica to let them know you want to take Bio at SDC because it has a 100% virtual lab whereas UMPI doesn't. Dr. Ashkir DHA, MBA, MAOL, PMP, GARA

The proctoring at SDC is VERY easy to deal with if you've got a laptop with a webcam on it. You cannot take the exam while sitting on a bed or on the couch or something like that. You need to be sitting at a table or a desk. Preferably with nothing on the walls in front of you/behind the laptop.
I haven't done Biology 101L at SDC but I know that a couple of people have reported finishing it in just a few days. It sounds like a really super simple course, especially compared to BIO 105 at UMPI!

Super, I'll let them know. For SDC do you get more than one attempt on the final or do you have to retake the course entirely if you fail on the first try? Txs for that advice, I'm grueling through an EDU course right now, ever since I got a taste of the 300/400 HIS/POS courses everything else feels so much more taxing lolz. I much prefer spitting out a quick essay.

I changed from the BA in Accounting to BABA, Accounting Concentration. I subsequently added a second concentration and a minor. I just emailed Jessica and asked her what would be required. She changed my course of study and sent me an updated degree audit. I think it took maybe 2 or 3 days to get those changes done. It didn’t require anything from me beyond the emails. I suspect it would be similarly easy for you to make that switch.
