I think everyone here is fine with having the video reviewed. I think the big annoyance is that with a multiple choice final, there can be an indication if the final was passed or failed on the spot. That indication is given with the understanding that the video will be reviewed and if you cheated, you fail. The computer knows immediately if you pass or fail given that the test is multiple choice.

A so-called "soft score" with the understanding that it might not include the quiz scores, and is still going to be reviewed.

I think the actual grade would need to be showed for this to work also. Since the quizzes now count for 100 points and you only need a 55 to pass the course once adding the two together, scoring a 60 on the final would technically be a fail. However, we know that the 60 added to the 100 equals a pass for the course. So if the exam just gave a pass or fail indication, then that could cause problems and unnecessary studying while waiting for the number grade.
"With this functionality, you will see an immediate indication of whether you passed the exam or not." <---- This quote from Study.com makes it seem like it could be just a pass or fail indication once this function is up and running and not the actual number grade.

Yes, a numeric indication of the final exam score would be necessary. I liked how SL did it with a pie chart so a student always knew exactly where they stood as far as liklihood of passing the course.

SL doesn't have a pie except to indicate completion, but it doesn't indicate that you are passing. Even their grades page doesn't factor in exams you haven't yet taken, so you take the first exam out of 20 and get 100%, it shows your weighted grade as 100% rather than 5%.

When I took several SL courses last year, I could figure my grade out somehow, knew what I needed to get on the final, and got immediate final results... did they change it?

You can figure it out yourself as you go, and they tell you what your score is immediately after taking the final -- I was just confused by "pie". There is a sort of circle-graph they have, but no pie chart, and the circle graph is just a progress meter that does not reflect your score.
