Hi, does anyone have suggestions or strategies they have used to get through Study.com classes more quickly, while still retaining enough knowledge to pass the final? I am finding it takes ages because of all the quizzes and I am trying to get my Gen Ed stuff done as quickly as I can so I can move on to degree specific courses. Thanks for any advice.

I read the chapters vs watching the videos...seems to make it go a lot faster for me.

If watching videos on your computer you can speed up the video.
I multitask for some videos. Set up phone and do a video or 2 at night when brushing/flossing. Set up laptop and watch several while eating breakfast or lunch.

I did the whole binge thing - 1 chapter at a time. So no breaks or anything until a whole chapter was complete, and then a good portion of the course was completed each time I got up - made me more motivated to continue.
I also didn't watch the videos unless I was having trouble understanding something.

I rarely watched any videos. I would read the chapters and go to the quiz. I had the app on my phone and would read while on breaks at work or standing in a line to something or whatever. Basically if I had a few minutes I was reading.

I picked courses I knew a good bit about, just no class credit to prove it.
This way I just did the quizzes then the final.
Is there anything you can start with that comes naturally to you?

I would also recommend courses with a lot of overlap. People report having 10-40% of a course completed before they start with some things. If you do a bunch of Psych courses for example, each consecutive course will have more quizzes completed.

That's great advice, thank you, especially since I plan on taking a lot of their psych courses.

If there is an assessment available take it -several times. It can knock off the number of quizzes you need to take. I was able to assess out of about 40% of one course.

The part that takes the longest to complete for any study.com course are the assignments. Many will have you complete a 2000 - 3000 word essay. Some classes might have three such assignments. Study.com courses require you to achieve a score of 210 out of 300. Quizzes, assignments and proctored exam are all worth 100 points each. Some courses will only have The strategy I've used is (1) get as close to 100% on your quizzes. This is quite easy to do. Then do the proctored exam and aim for a 70/100. This will net you 170 points meaning you will only need 40 more points to pass the course. You can do minimal effort on the assignments to get the remaining 40 points.
