Study.com Wrote:Wanted to post with some clarifying information about how placement exams affect course progress, since people have asked really good questions.
- Currently, you can achieve up to 30% course progress through placement tests.
- Taking placement tests helps you withcourse progress, but you cannot test out of a proctored final exam or projects. You will still need to complete those regardless of how many placement tests you take.
Thanks!

A few days ago your placement test page said you could earn unto 100% course progress through placement tests - Is this ANOTHER change you just made?
Or can you test out of 100% of the quiz portion and you're saying 30% because the quizzes account for 30% of the entire course?

I'm so confused >.< why did they just say it's only 30%? I was going to start one of their courses that has a placement test tomorrow so I guess I'll find out tomorrow how far you can get with placement tests.

This should be clarified on your website as the current information on there says you can earn as high as 100% with placement tests, that's misleading, it should be specified that it's only for course content.

Great catch, and thank you for the feedback! While we are testing in placement tests, you can only earn up to 30% course progress. Once we fully implement, you will be able to earn up to 100%. We're hoping that day comes soon!
We will update our message on our landing page to say 30% at this time for clarity
Thank you again!

Can anyone give feedback as to whether or not the courses can be completed using only the placement exam?

It's 30%. I recently (within the last week) took a placement test and tested out of 22% of the course. The option was there to take another placement test until I hit 30% and then the option was gone.

Ooooooooooh! So THAT'S why the option disappeared (for me). I was wondering what was going on.
