Study.com Bio 101L Holy Hell
#1
This is REALLY dense material.

I'm concerned that even with 100s on the quizzes I won't do well enough on the test.

Is there another option for people transferring to UMPI for a LS Accounting minor?

Thx!

Nothing anywhere near as cheap, no. The next best option would be something from ASU. https://ea.asu.edu/courses/ SES-106 is a start-anytime self-paced lab science, but I'm not sure if UMPI accepts it. If they do, and they probably do, you'd still need Human Biology from Sophia. There are other sciences at ASU, but they don't start until January.

That one requires at least two exams, though. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is struggling with SDC.

@mikehart82, I'm still confused on what the issue is... the course has 3 areas to complete, quizzes, final, lab. You need 210/300 to pass, so if you get 100 on the quizzes, 60 on the final, 70 on the labs, you pass the course with 230 already. I would get closer to these scores if possible... try to get higher in the final and quizzes if you can't get 100.

I'm just kind of shell shocked at how dense the material is.  It's just much more thorough than any of the previous courses on Sophia or Study.com

In High School, I did an entire year's worth of Biology, and when I took the placement test for SDC's Biology, I could barely answer any of of the questions.

I suggest doing the lab first, as most have reported it isn't too hard.

Then with 100% on quizzes and a high score for the lab, you know how much you need on the final exam to pass.

Do the practice exam, and you should score within 10% on the final exam of what you score on the practice exam.

That's right, its personal preference really, I would do the quizzes and try to get closest to 100, then on the labs also try getting close to 100. You should be able to review the practice exam and then the final exam, it'll be better that way as you'll get a review of everything before the final exam.

As others have said, ensure you get 100% on quizzes. Close to 100% on lab.
For the exam, focus on chapters that you have knowledge of. I still retain some stuff from high school days, and there were some chapters that were of interest. So I practiced those chapter tests, didn't bother about the ones that were difficult to grasp. Difficult questions in exam, use process of elimination. You will be surprised. I was.

Pro tip: If you have a high schooler in the family taking Bio, have them explain the topics to you when you are driving. Helped me.

Exactly, except not when you're driving, maybe having dinner or getting dinner ready, when you're doing something that doesn't need to take too much of your attention and get distracted.
