Straighterline Final exam questions
#1
Hi, I am about to take my SL Calculus final proctored exam. I am just wondering if the questions in final exam are similar (difficulty level) to the questions in unit exams? Will the unit exam questions be repeated in final proctored exam?

thanks

I haven't taken calculus through SL but most other courses you will see some questions from test 3&4 on the final.

Hi - I just started Intro to Biology with Straighterline. I got an 88 on the first quiz, but just failed the second quiz. Any ideas on the best way to study for this test. The questions don't correlate with the book or the online sessions. Thanks.

My son is taking Intro to Bio through Straighetrline. This is his (our) first experience with SL, and I don't like it at all! He completes all assignments, reads the text, watches the videos, etc, and he still struggles. If the tests were not open book- open note, he would fail every single time. He does NOT Google the answers which would be cheating. He is halfway done with the course, and what we have found is that he should focus all his energy in reading the text and do nothing else. A lot of the midterm questions came directly from the unit tests. I have a bachelors degree, and I am a nurse and have taken my fair share of biology. But, in my opinion, this course is useless for actually learning biology. All this course teaches a student is how to look up answers quickly in a book. Very frustrating.

Thanks - you're right whatever I'm learning I'm not retaining because it's not on the test. My sister is also a nurse and suggested I not take this course online. I don't have much of a choice, I tried taking it at school and had to drop it because I was failing. I just don't get it. I have take 13 online classes at the junior college and university level (have gotten all A's and one A-) but this doesn't compare because there's no instructor or discussion boards where you can interact with other students and learn from each other. I university I attend approved it for this semester but the course is under review - not sure why. Thanks again.

I agree....I've taken 5 quizzes so far....I tried to do it all with what I read on the first quiz...got a 56.....next quiz I used the book for the questions I wasn't sure I knew..got a72. Now I look them all up. Nothing I study from is ever on the quizzes. I read the book , take the test quiz in the book then take the quiz.......shock....nothing from the quiz is EVER on the practices. I feel like I'm learning nothing but how to look up answers. I know the final will be brutal so I'm hoping my score is high enough by then to pass the class. As for the video series....worthless....nothing is ever on the quizzes from the videos....in fact, the videos waste time. They are simple but then the quiz questions are hard. I re-read the book, highlight things, take study quiz in book and online....feel like I've mastered it....then see the quiz.....nothing like the study quizzes and in fact, most questions are from minor blubs in the book...not they main topics. Stuff that has like 3 paragraphs on will have no questions and the one liners have like 8 questions (of which the book covers nothing on.) I'm trying so hard, and being diligent, but it seems its worthless. Learn to look things up fast is my advice.

I have taken many Straighterline courses and bio was the hardest by far. I did all the reading and watched the videos and in some cases re-read the chapters and it was just tough. I do not remember what grades I received on each exam as it has been some months since I took it, but I know my overall grade after the final was only a 72%. I was panicked going into the final as it was closed book (not sure if it still is) but thankfully a lot of the questions were on previous exams so I knew I'd at least get those right. I doubt I truly learned much about biology, but I did pass in the end.

So that's what I have been doing... looking things up... but now I have to take the final and I was told that they watch your screen, but they also require you to have a webcam? How do they proctor the exams? Do they watch you the entire time your taking the test? How do they know if your cheating?
