Starting down the Straighterline Road...
#1
Looking for a little guidance. I'm going for a BSBA:general Management from TESU. I originally had ruled out using Straighterline in favor of Saylor for the majority of my classes. This was based on an incorrect assumption on my part. With that said, I'd now like to shift my focus to Straighterline as soon as I finish up the classes I currently have in progress. (See signature). I know that I'll be taking the English Comp and A&I CLEPS. Also, the Strategic Management TECEP. Outside of those, what is the most classes I can get from Straighterline that will be able to be used for my degree plan?

ALEKS

Alternative Credit Project

If you mean in the core, they have Macro, Micro, Accounting I, Accounting II, Business Ethics, Business Law, Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, and probably a few others I'm overlooking. They have a lot of Gen Ed courses as well.

There may or may not be other courses that are ACE approved that are not on that transfer equivalency list.

Alot. I wish I wasn't on this phone, I would type them all out. But alot. A whole lot. In fact, most of my BSBA will have come from SL before it's all said and done.

I created a spreadsheet for you. I used SL everywhere possible, although I kept Shmoop for some courses since I know you're doing a course there now. I also included Saylor's Business Stats, which you should try after you finish ALEKS Intro to Stats.

Study.com has some courses you'll need, so you should do 6 courses there (an even number).

This. I have completed 72cr from SL so far and my plan has 78-81cr from SL, depending on how I finish up my free electives.

Thanks everyone for the response. It's very helpful.

Regarding Business Statistics... this isn't a requirement is it? I ask because Intro to Stats is kicking my ass right now. I'm up to 58%. I can't imagine doing another class after this.

Use excel to help calculate for you. It helped me to an A in a Business Stats class.

It's not a requirement, but it fills an upper level requirement in the AOS (3cr in management), and those are difficult to come by cheaply. If you can get confident/comfortable through ALEKS over time, you should do the Saylor one right after. I'd be done with it as well if someone had given me this same advice.. now I'm learning that mind-numbing stuff all over again.. Wink

I took 14 SL courses. I wish they had the remaining of my courses. Managerial Accounting was hard but some how I managed to pass it.

You can do the micro bio, nutrition, American government, Intro to Religion, all of the business courses pretty much. Although I didn't do business communication I will be doing corporate communication for that.

On another note, do you mind sharing your assumption and why you decided to go with SL instead of Saylor? I'm planning on going with Saylor for most of my business core credits, due to pricing, and the fact that I am good at testing.
