I know that this course was discussed during the recent Sophia sale. It was listed as expired at that time within the ACE database. Someone on this site mentioned that a Sophia representative had commented that a renewal of the ACE recommendation was on the way. I just checked and it has now been updated through 2022. I don't notice any change in the actual recommendation:

Objective:
The course objective is to gain mastery of the essentials of communicating visually and apply this mastery in context. Students will explore visual theories and key elements and principles of visual design, with an emphasis on color, typography, and layout. Students will learn how to analyze a visual design and will understand the role that visual communications play in today's society.
Learning Outcome:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to examine basic visual design concepts; distinguish how color, type, and layout contribute to communication; and analyze the role of design in visual communications.
Instruction:
The methods of instruction include audio visual materials, practical exercises, lecture, case studies and computer-based training. The general course topics include vision and interpretation; elements of visual design; principles of visual design; color; typography; layout; creative process; evaluating visual design; and influence of visual design.
Assessment:
The methods of assessment include quizzes, case studies, and examinations with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.
Credit Recommendation:
In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in communications, visual communications, or media arts (2/19).
