If you are already familiar with Spanish than it will be quicker to do IC. If not, I recommend Sophia. The course you can finish in a couple of hours but because of how long it takes to grade the touchstones it will take about a week or so.

Did you need to put a Spanish keyboard on your computer for this course?

Since you need to submit written assignments, you're going to need some way of adding the proper accents. I recommend US International vs. a "real" Spanish keyboard. It's super easy to type Spanish accents. For instance, ~ and then typing n will produce ñ. It does take a little getting used to, but it's much easier than a 100% brand new keyboard layout that doesn't really match what's on your physical keyboard.

Ok, Sophia Spanish is slightly kicking my butt Smile I have a back up plan and am enrolled in a community college American Sign Language 4 week, 3 unit course. Do you all think that it MAY be easier than learning Spanish?? Im also on Duolingo which is way more understandable and I am learning more there than what Im retaining on Sophia.

Spanish is Spanish regardless of where you learn it.

I suggest the short book Learn Spanish in 21 days

Duolingo does work though it is harder than it use to be.

Duolingo Spanish is really good. (The other languages can be iffy, but Spanish is good.) It's supposed to be harder, because it's actually trying to teach you fluency and not just barely enough Spanish to count for 3 credits. They're trying to get students to B1 or B2 fluency. 1 semester of Spanish in the US probably isn't enough to pass even an A1 exam.

While the Spanish language is technically the same, no matter what resource you use, the teaching method will influence how much you actually learn and retain. Some people will struggle with almost any online method but will flourish with in-person instruction. Others will be the opposite. Because of that, an in-person (or at least over Zoom) class may well be easier than Sophia Spanish because you'll have actual interaction with the instructor and be able to ask questions when you're confused.

Wow; is this correct that the new class offer of Spanish on Sophia will count towards the Spanish requirement at UMPI your pace for the BABA with leadership/management concentration?

Spanish must be new on Sophia.....don't recall it being there or an option for UMPI transfer in dec/jan when I did all my transfer credits.
